Set in an 1886 building. Atmosphere is relaxed but the wait staff is top notch 4 star dining. Beautiful interior. Didn't feel rushed. Great food with large portions. Lattes excellent!

The following is based on price point. Staff was fantastic; they are attentive, and friendly. Excess is the focal point for my criticism. I like sweets but not too sweet, the cinnomon roll dough was smooth and had just the right amount of chew to it; while the icing was not over sweet to me it had just a tad bit too much on it. The Drisckle breakfast, the eggs needed maybe half min longer to firm up just a hair as they had more of a jelly texture and really salty, the potatos size and cook is fantastic however the amount of peppers and garlic overpowered the entire dish along with the level of salt in the mix. The espresso macchiato was fantastic and one of the best I've had in a long time.

Highly recommended! 1886 Café & Bakery ended up being my favorite stop in my TEXAS road trip. Located inside a beautiful historic hotel, the setting alone is worth the visit. Elegant, warm, and full of character. We actually started with a rough experience (around 5/10) due to some service misunderstandings, but after speaking with the manager, everything completely shifted. The team stepped up, service became outstanding, and the whole experience turned into a 9/10. The biggest surprise was the food: simple presentation, but incredible flavor, easily some of the best I had in Texas. Highly recommend. Don’t miss it if you’re in Austin!

Beautiful building with delicious cafe inside. The construction happening in the next room made for an unenjoyable experience, but the restaurant couldn’t control that. Food was great pictured is huevos rancheros on corn tortilla and omelette off their breakfast menu. Potatoes had a green salsa that was excellent and they were cooked nice and crunchy. Would go back.

My friends and I stopped by at this bakery while we were exploring Austin during my bestie’s bachelorette trip. It is such a cute place to stop by to sit and hang out. It is attached to this amazingly beautiful hotel and has all the beautiful vibes of it. I got a classic croissant which was buttery, flaky, and had a little sweetness on top which we all loved. A little extra salt would have been nice, but otherwise the texture and flavor were amazing. Next time I’ll make sure to get a picture of the pastries before they’re eaten! Such a fun little stop!
