Had my birthday dinner here last night. Wow 10/10! The space is beautiful, light and airy, sophisticated, but not pretentious. All of the staff were amazing, very personable, friendly, kind and professional. We did the family style meal and it's worth every penny. I see why they won a Michelin Star last year! Every dish was outstanding and their wine pairings were spot on. They are able to accommodate to dietary allergies and you don't feel like you're missing out on anything. Our favorite dishes were the stuff quail and the crispy lamb ribs with consommé. This was such a special dinner and the staff ever signed a card wishing me happy birthday! So sweet! My new favorite restaurant in the city!

Hidden in a hotel lobby in the pier area, this restaurant serves an elevated variation on Filipino cuisine. We took their Paubaya (tasting menu) and got to experience many of their unique dishes. Overall the dishes were flavorful, and I was especially impressed with their use of unique ingredients I haven't really seen in western cuisine, their charcoal grill, and their adjustments to dietary restrictions - especially impressive considering this is a hotel restaurant. I wouldn't say this place is cheap by any means, but the tasting menu was quite robust and filling, the server was very nice, and they accommodated restrictions very well. Definitely worth a visit!

We went to this restaurant on a recommendation from our hotel, and it did not disappoint. We were seated right away, and our server was incredibly attentive, patiently explaining most of the dishes to my kids. Every plate was delicious—we enjoyed every bite. The desserts truly blew our palate away. Definitely one of the best dinners we had in San Francisco.

Celebrating my birthday at Abacá was truly unforgettable. From the moment we sat down, Keoki was incredible — warm, attentive, and so genuine. Finding out he’s also from Hawai‘i, where I’m from, made the experience even more special. That island hospitality and sense of connection meant so much to me. The food was absolutely phenomenal — elevated, thoughtful, and bursting with flavor. I’m Filipino, and even though the dishes are refined to today’s culinary standards, every bite brought me back to my roots. It felt nostalgic and soulful while still being beautifully modern. We had a vegan friend with us, and they didn’t just accommodate him — they created an entire vegan chef’s tasting course so he could fully share in the experience. That level of care and intention is rare. Keoki even brought out Chef Francis Ang and his wife and co-owner Dian to meet us, which made the evening feel so personal. And to top it all off, they surprised me with a birthday treat and a birthday card signed by the entire staff. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the celebration feel incredibly meaningful. This wasn’t just dinner — it was an experience filled with heart, culture, and genuine hospitality. I’m so grateful and can’t wait to return!

Go there now! I can’t even describe how everyone enjoyed their food. The dishes were so unexpectedly original and well executed. This gives Filipino food a new direction, since it’s elevated here in an original way. Everyone’s overall favorite was sisig rice, but there were so many other outstanding plates such as caviar starter. I’m sorry I can’t remember the name of more! The family menu was a great choice for our table of six. They brought us 12 dishes. Such a superb variety of food and fusion style dishes. The least favorite was the added Wagyu dumplings. Honestly, the best service experience we have had in a long time. From the moment we called to book a table to the dessert wine, everything in between was amazing. Our sever is a phd candidate at UCSF by day and helps in the restaurant at night to unwind! What a great and attentive fellow. The chef and wine expert (not sure if he was a sommelier) both visited our table to chat. We brought our own wine from a family members winery-Tyler. The wine guy hadn’t tried it before so we shared a bit. In turn, he shared his house made limoncello. Such a treat. We had two people specific dietary needs and they graciously made separate dishes for them as needed. It was very clear they avoided cross contamination as much as possible and were so eager to meet every detail of the requirements. Do not expect quick service, this is a place to savor and enjoy at leisure. Possibly the special dietary concerns also needed more time? Our meal was three hours since we lingered in conversation and enjoyed time between courses to catch up with each other over dessert. Glad we arrived at 5pm. Valet parking is cash only and $25 with tax.
