Had dinner with my sister last month, on a Thursday night. Nice touch with the photo op when entering. It was maybe 3 other small parties and a couple people at the bar, definitely a quiet evening. The food was very delicious! We even ordered an extra entree (Braised Beef Short Rib) to take home because it was so tender and flavorful! We spent $317 including tip. The only recommendation I’d give is to take better care of the bathroom, the drainage in there had it smelling foul.

We had reservations, and upon entry it was a lil hectic with the guest awaiting for their seating. Finally after a long wait , we still had to wait before the waitress took our orders, stating a policy of if 70%of your party not there you can’t even get drinks! Unbelievable, finally we sis order , and that was so subpar with the wait time to receive room temperature rib bites . The drinks were pricey to be charged a fee for mixing. Lastly, the food was mediocre and the sweet potatoes were canned. Not in my opinion a good experience other than they play good music just really loud to the point you can’t hear your conversation. The young manager is however very nice he was accommodating when I told him about the appetizer issue

Believe the people who have given this place ONE star, cause if we all could - we’d give them NO stars. Not sure why “upscale” exists in their description! This place gives counterfeit vibes all the way. Ordered the chicken box. What could go wrong with chicken wings and fries? Actually everything. I was so mortified with the amount of hairs on the chicken that I lost my appetite for even the water! Disgusting and when they brought out the second batch to correct the issue, they had JUST AS MANY hairs on the chicken wings. I would have rather they said that they were out of chicken wings than to serve them. And clearly they don’t do any quality control checks before the food leaves the line. They also must not do any food preparation or cleaning (yikes). Honestly, I wouldn’t trust anything that came out of that kitchen! I just want black owned restaurants whose main supporters are black folks to do black folks right! I can’t even cape for you when my food is trash out the gate but I do want to shout out Forest for providing excellent customer service and care regarding the situation! But the owner, Chef Saon Brice, needs to be more present in what represents his brand from his restaurant! Oh and get your front door fixed. It doesn’t close on its own. And when it’s cold out, the whole restaurant gets cold as people enter because the door doesn’t close.

I recently visited The Blk Swan and it was absolutely fabulous. Our waitress, Jean, was amazing—very attentive, high-energy, and just a genuinely lovely person who showed excellent customer service from start to finish. The three-part jazz band was incredible and very engaging, which added so much to the atmosphere. The environment and ambience were perfect for a soulful, relaxing evening, and the food was absolutely phenomenal. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food, great music, and an overall soulful vibe. Definitely a spot worth visiting!

My best friend and I went here for brunch and while the atmosphere was great, the food fell short, especially for the price. My friend and I were looking at the appetizers and couldn’t decide between the honey buttermilk biscuit or the crabcakes. Both fell short, considering — A.) There was a single biscuit in a small skillet plate that was supposed to be shared between my friend and I. We thought it was a joke, but it was not, this biscuit cost $20 and tasted like something I could’ve made at home for 2.99 (see picture) B.) The crabcakes were also equally as small and it was described as a dip, but was just super confusing and again not worth almost $30 for this small unsharable item. I really like the chicken and waffles that I got. But again nothing to rave about, the food is just OK. My friend got the catfish and grits… and again, it was just OK. Not really a complaint, but just some confusion. We went to split the bill and my server said they don’t do split checks. They only do separate payments? My friend and I were both able to put our cards down and decide what amount we want to be charged but… Isn’t that the same as just getting your own check and only paying for the things you purchased? I don’t know, confusing and didn’t make sense. Overall, the restaurant is really cute and I love the decor. The DJ was definitely playing some throwbacks that my friend and I loved so much. But the food and the price for the food, just doesn’t seem worth it.
