Im at the Comfort Suites this week for work, I usually always stay here when I am in town covering a route in the Myrtle Beach area. This hotel is 5 minutes from the storage where i pick up my deliveries in the morning. Its been a while since I was here last, the last time i stayed here was January 27 2025. At that time, I think the Fitness Center was under renovation, so I am excited to go to the Fitness Center this week while I am in town. I stayed on the first floor back in 2025 and they all have the hard laminate floors, unfortunately the higher floors all still have carpet. It would be nice to see all the floors with the hard laminate installed. Unfortunately I wasn't able to enjoy the breakfast this week. The breakfast hours are 0630-0930. I understand that its probably the management's call on when they want the breakfast hours to be served. But for those who enjoy the free breakfast, but also rise early in the morning it would be nice to see if they could move the time back to 0600-0930. This would be a huge benefit to those who have to get to a job earlier in the mornings. If not, then we will just miss the breakfast, and enjoy the free coffee before heading out to work. (There is a Waffle House across the street the early risers can go there). This location is right off the 17 and 501 intersection, so at times there can be road noise if you are facing 501, but this can be drowned out by having the constant fan going on the AC unit. This property is down the road front Broadway at the Beach, and 10 minutes from public beach access in downtown Myrtle Beach. There isn't much walk ability to stores or restaurants at the Comfort Suites, most places are within driving distance. The only restaurant next door is the Waffle house. This hotel is great, the location is great. I had a good and quiet stay. The front desk staff is friendly and professional keep up the good work guys. They will help you with any issues that may occur during your stay, all you have to do is reach out to them. No need to write a bad review about how an issue wasn't resolved when you only mentioned it at checkout. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and I will be back the next time I'm in town for work. Thanks for the hospitality. STUFF THAT NEEDS TO BE UPDATED: 1) The internet comes in and out, sometimes dropping all together. I would definitely reach out to the internet provider to troubleshoot and provide stronger routers and modems to provide the guests with fast and reliable internet. NOTE: This could probably be due to lots of people on the internet at one time. Or it could be my tablet is older and cant hold on to the signal for some reason. That being said, I would recommend getting a stronger router. 2) I would reach out to Choice Hotels corporate to see if they can put yall in line to be renovated and modernized to how the new Comfort Suites look. This would definitely be a game changer for this property. 3) Talk to the management and owners to try to move the breakfast time to start at 0600.

Stayed there Thursday night, very quite very clean. The room was nice. Yes, the flooring is old. The front desk was friendly, and the breakfast is good.

We had to use a towel on the shower floor because of the stains. The free breakfast in the morning was terrible. The sausage patties were not actually sausage and the eggs were green. When I showed the green eggs to the front desk they said it was normal and safe to eat. They actually told me the eggs didn't have enough lemon juice in them to prevent the green. Front desk clerk did not care.

DO NOT book at Comfort Suites Myrtle Beach Central. We were charged $398.53 for a single night due to a last-minute situation after a reservation error at another hotel. Shortly after booking, we attempted to cancel in person when a room became available at our original hotel, but the property refused—even though someone came in asking for a room while I was trying to get a refund and they turned him away. The manager never came out of the back office despite multiple requests to speak to her. When we arrived, the hotel was dimly lit and had a strong marijuana odor throughout the entire property, which immediately raised concerns about safety and cleanliness. Unfortunately, the room conditions matched that first impression. The pull-out couch our daughter slept on had visible dirt and dead bugs underneath and overall cleanliness was below basic standards. Noise from neighboring rooms made it difficult to rest. After checkout, we discovered an additional $250 charge on our credit card for an alleged “marijuana smell” in the room. This is completely false—the odor was present throughout the entire hotel upon arrival. When I called to dispute the charge, I was told we should have reported it earlier, despite it clearly being a property-wide issue. After our stay, I read other reviews and found multiple guests reporting the same concerns: strong marijuana odor, unclean rooms, poor customer service, and management not addressing issues. Unfortunately, our experience aligned exactly with those patterns. Between the excessive rate, poor conditions, lack of accountability, and an unjustified additional charge, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. I would strongly caution others before booking here, as the owner (privately owned franchise) and staff are repeatedly exploiting guests.

I completed a post-stay review only after the hotel repeatedly requested feedback. My comments were balanced and factual, noting several positives about the room along with a few observed concerns (cleanliness of common areas, maintenance issues, and an elevator stoppage). Rather than acknowledging the feedback, management responded with a defensive, corrective email that attempted to discredit the review and frame it as inaccurate because concerns were not reported in real time. Guests should be aware that even measured, solicited feedback may be met with admonishment rather than professionalism. Between the stay itself and the manner in which guest feedback is handled, this property does not meet reasonable expectations for service or accountability.
