It had been decades since I've been here. Feels like it hasn't changed a bit. That's not exactly a compliment. The food was fine. Nothing special. Nothing I would crave in the future. The service was fantastic actually! I praise for that! The atmosphere is also just fine. Nothing great. It is not very expensive so that's a plus. If you're looking to be wowed, this is not the place to go. If you're looking for a "decent" meal at a fair price, this is your place.

The clam chowder and French onion soup were a perfect start to dinner. The salmon was excellent; and the lobster amazing, but the steak was a bit on the dry side. We paired the meal with a nice red wine. Dessert was excellent, the creme brulee was enjoyed right after dinner and the cheesecake saved for later.

Food was wow, to the exception that the creamed corn should be more creamy or finer chopped, blended something. It took away from the mouth watering scallops. The red velvet was very good not dry and icing very good not overly sweet.

Head reservations for when they first opened on a Saturday service was good but slow took a while just to get water and bread to the table apps that didn't take too long but dinner scene to take a very long time people that walked in the same time that we did had already ate paid the bill and gone before we even received our entrees ordered a couple fillets one looked really good but was very dry word ordered a filet and had it cut oscar style the crab meat on top was very fishy almost like it must have been a canned crab they used both ribeyes that was ordered at medium temperature come out rare to medium rare all the steak could have used some kind of seasoning on them other than just Char-Broil even the mashed potatoes and green beans were very Bland. first time that I've ever been there sorry to say that I probably won't be back

We want to Don’s Lighthouse last week for dinner. We made reservations in case it was busy. They had plenty of seating, so you might be able to get away without a reservation, but don’t chance it if your heart is set on dinner here. Especially on a weekend. Service and atmosphere was great. We had a very attentive and helpful server that gave us recommendations and checked on us often. Elegant restaurant that has a nice and fancy vibe to it. Great for date nights and special occasions. We sampled and found really good tasting wines. Made note and will purchase those wines in the future for casual drinking at home. We started with the complimentary bread and butter. Bread has hot out of the oven and tasted fresh. Also very soft. A+ on the bread. Same with the crab cake for an appetizer. Very small portion of just 1 crab cake, but favor was everything you could want when ordering a crab cake. Moving into the entree is where I marked them down on food. The main course of the meal(Steak, Walleye, Scallops) were excellent for all parties of our table. The problem was the sides were very lacking. My red potatoes were undercooked and hard. They just seemed basic with no added flavors. My green beans were cooked properly, but it was steamed green beans with zero flavor. They were just plain. Same with the corn mix. The sides need more flavor whether it’s coming from a seasoning or sauce. We finished our meal off with bread pudding. Didn’t get a picture of this, but it tasted solid. I try bread pudding at any restaurant that offers it and felt this was mostly a flavored bread with ice cream on it. Not much of the creamy pudding to be a real bread pudding. But it was good for what it was. Overall, I do recommend trying this place.
