Food was amazing, definitely want to come back. Service was slow, and not very good. I had to sit outside and waiter never offered to turn heat lamp on. I understand Service is busy, but you should treat every customer the same. You never know who that single person may be.

We planned to have dinner in Hayes because we were going to SFJAZZ later that evening. We had walked by this restaurant a few years ago when we lived in Hayes, but never had a chance to try it, so we finally decided to give it a shot. We ordered two drinks, the Espresso Fizz and the Mama Mia. The Espresso Fizz was made with vodka, coffee liquor, Frangelico, espresso, and a toasted marshmallow. It tasted really good, well-balanced with a rich and aromatic coffee flavor. The Mama Mia came with gin, raspberry syrup, strawberry puree, canton, cointerau, Licor 43, and egg white. This drink tasted fruity and refreshing. We started with the Calamari and Shrimp, which came with fried calamari and shrimp with a side of tomato sauce. They were fried to perfect crispiness while still tender inside, and the shrimps were jumbo-sized and sweet. We also got a Margherita pizza, which was made with tomato, mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano, and basil. It was simple, classic, and delicious. The only thing we were disappointed with was the service. Our server never came to check on us throughout the meal and only returned after we had finished eating. We wanted to ask for red chili pepper and cheese, but we couldn't find him while we were eating, so we just gave up. I hope the service can be more attentive in the future. Other than this, everything was great.

Doppio Zero in Hayes Valley draws attention thanks to its Michelin Guide mention, making it a popular choice for date nights, but the experience can feel a bit underwhelming if you’re expecting authentic Italian or French-level pizza—while the pies are well-presented, they lack the bold flavor and depth you might anticipate, and even the truffle fries fall short of expectations; that said, the ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a decent spot for a casual, romantic evening despite the hit-or-miss food quality.

The bartender had the BIGGEST stink face when he found out we did not want to order alcohol at the bar. Um, it's not our fault the hostess sat us here? Why not make it a policy that you have to order drinks if you're gonna have Mr. Stinkface be in charge of the bar? My guess is that he thinks he's missing out on the tips if we don't order drinks. Well we definitely won't be tipping you more if you give us attitude. So from the get go, it was already a bad experience. At least he seemed to lighten up after we were super polite to him the entire time. Service was severely slow anyways so we barely saw him. Can't even flag down a person for our bill. Oh yeah watch out for hidden fees. It's posted on the door but not on the menu which I'm pretty sure is illegal. I know neopolitan pizza is supposed to be softer but this pizza was definitely under baked. This location needs some serious retraining for their rude service and put the hidden fees on your menu in big letters.

This restaurant carries a history of Michelin recognition (2019-2021), which naturally sets a certain expectation. The Burrata & Prosciutto and grilled octopus were well executed, and the Cacio e pepe pasta truly stood out, perfectly al dente and full of flavor. The rotisserie chicken was nicely roasted and satisfying. The kitchen clearly understands technique and balance. The ambiance is warm and inviting, ideal for a relaxed yet refined meal. Service was pleasant, though at times a bit slow, particularly in the outdoor seating area. Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience with beautifully executed pasta. I would gladly return.
