We celebrated our 30th anniversary at Fixe and couldn't have chosen better. The Southern comfort food was outstanding across the board: crispy fried chicken, flavorful deviled eggs, warm fluffy biscuits, smoky barbecue beans, and a hearty vegetarian bowl. Even the tea was perfect--nothing disappointed. The ambience is charming and elegant yet relaxed, making it ideal for a special occasion. Service was phenomenal, with our server Ashlyn being attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm all evening. Highly recommend Fixe for elevated Southern dining in Austin!

The food and drinks were great. The service was exemplary. Jon was an excellent server, he made wonderful recommendations and was extremely attentive. We had the Honey Badger drink, it was smooth, smokey and strong. The prosecco was the best I’ve had. I enjoyed it so much, I shipped a bottle to my home. We had the shrimps and grits, fried chicken, BBQ beans, brussels sprouts and biscuits. Every items was delicious. The chicken was crispy and juicy, completely cooked to perfection. The warm biscuits were outstanding. We finished our meal off with espresso. My only critique is the lack of crisp on the Brussels sprouts.

Our server was very polite and knowledgeable. The fried fish and hushpuppies were lacking flavor/seasoning. The crab dip was very good. The iced tea presentation we loved! The biscuit was tasty but again, the chicken left something to be desired in terms of flavor/seasoning.

Visited for the first time for a family bunch and we had a great delicious meal together . Love that they have an open kitchen area. It especially fun seeing them putting the delicious biscuits in the oven. Baked to perfection Biscuits with apple butter and honey, delicious! I had the vegetable plate, it’s was flavorful and had a great selection of vegetables. The service was welcoming, friendly, helpful and attentive. The atmosphere was very comfortable and festive.

🍴 “Great Vibes, Amazing Biscuits, but a Few Misses” Went to Fixe Southern House in downtown Austin for a family gathering on a Friday night. If you’re looking for authentic southern food in Austin, this place has a lively atmosphere, though it’s very loud and a bit dark inside, with limited downtown parking. The buttermilk biscuits are a must-try—hot, fresh, and some of the best biscuits in Austin! We also tried the fried okra, trout dip, and spicy cauliflower; the trout dip was delicious, but the okra was tough and the rice cakes hard. My fried chicken was oily and tasted reheated, but the heritage pork chop and shrimp & grits were outstanding. Service was excellent, making this a solid spot for southern comfort food despite a few misses.
