I came here for brunch with a friend and initially had a great impression. The host was friendly and welcoming, but unfortunately the service from our waitress was disappointing. She brought out a matcha martini that was dripping all over the outside of the glass and carried it without a serving tray. As she handed it across the table, the drink spilled onto my bag and stained the leather handle before being placed in front of me. I had to ask for napkins to clean both the glass and my bag. What bothered me most was that she did not apologize until I pointed out that my bag had been stained. I later noticed her using serving trays for other drinks. I understand that she may have been new, but this experience put a damper on what otherwise could have been an enjoyable brunch.

I had brunch here recently, and there is so much to love about this spot! The Vibe: The atmosphere inside is incredibly inviting, and they have a great playlist going that sets a really nice, relaxed brunch mood. The Patio: The outdoor patio area is beautiful and well-decorated—perfect for a weekend morning. The Food: Absolutely delicious. Everything we ordered hit the spot. One quick heads-up: The patio had quite a few bugs flying around while we were trying to eat. If you are sensitive to that, you might want to ask for a table indoors or bring along some bug spray! Overall, it's a fantastic Brooklyn brunch spot that I’d definitely recommend. I would absolutely go back—I just might sit inside next time!

French Louie is the kind of neighborhood spot that makes you feel like a regular on your first visit, which is either great hospitality or mild sorcery. I’m not ruling either out. Stopped in for drinks and apps, and the food was solid without being the kind of thing you text someone about. The wine list earns a respectable nod. But honestly? The bartender is the whole plot here. The energy was warm, unhurried, and vaguely like being looked after by someone’s cooler older sibling. I’ll be back, and it’ll be because of them.

Had a spontaneous date night here and it turned out to be the perfect spot. The food was great and I especially appreciated the portions considering the affordable price point. The highlight for me were the fried artichokes, they were so delicious and memorable and so was the salad verte!

Joined for dinner on a Thursday night. The restaurant has a modern-bistro sensibility with subtle rustic touches and a nice balance between elegance and comfortable warmth. We sat in the back section of the main dining area with the leather banquettes. Tables did feel too cramped, and the it wasn’t a busy night but it would be difficult to get out from your seat on a busy one. Service was okay, not the most friendly and warm. Food was very good. The escargot was delicious, the piece of sausage added to each shell elevates the flavor. The grilled whole dorade was very fresh, meat was tender with a subtle sweetness. But the charred broccolini was very bitter for some reason. House steak was okay. Would love to try the lamb next time. Overall a cute bistro with great food.
