Second time visiting this place and I'm happy to report that it was excellent again. Half rack, potato salad, bbq beans, hush puppies. All excellent. Quiet, unassuming place. We go out of our way for great bbq and sides. This place is at the top of the list in Charlotte.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Incredible BBQ! If you’re looking for authentic, perfectly smoked BBQ, Hickory & Heart is the real deal. You can smell the amazing woodsmoke before you even walk through the door. The meat is incredibly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor—no heavy sauces needed to hide behind, though their sauces are fantastic too. The staff is always welcoming, and you can tell they put a lot of love and pride into what they do. New favorite spot, hands down!

I don't normally give places 5 stars all around. But the service was great.. let me sample the brisket before ordering. The smoked sausage was HITTING!!. Mac.. Okra.. and Hush Puppies.. did not disappoint one bit. Even the creative sauces were a nice touch. And all of that for $20. Def coming back and bringing friends lol.

Mac and cheese like your mom used to make. Smoked meats as advertised- hickory wood smoke throughout the protein menu. Vinegar versus sauce? Take your puck- both were serviceable. Would come back. Next time, I'll need to try the Brunswick stew!
