We are IHG platinum members, so we like our Holiday Inn Express. However this was our worst hotel experience in years. Relatively clean for the price point and an adequate breakfast with good coffee. The first day they failed to service the room at all. I don’t mind reusing the towels but the room was so damp they did not dry. So off to the desk where a flustered desk clerk scrounged clean towels from the laundry room. The second day they serviced the room (we specifically requested it), but we arrived back in the room at 10 pm to find they had taken away the dirty towels but not left clean bath towels. The front desk clerk, nearly in tears, explained she only had one clean towel and gave it to us. I went to the laundry room myself and scrounged some clean bath mats to use at towels. Indeed at ten am the third day when we left the hotel, we asked and were told that the towels “were still in the dryer.” In what world is it acceptable for even a budget hotel to leave guests with NO bath towels? This was a failure on the part of the housekeeping manager to have appropriate systems in place and be sure they are followed. And someone should have stayed late to finish the load of towels. And the hotel should always have 50-100 spare towels. Terrible customer service. Worst of all, when we arrived, we found a pair of men’s underwear that did not belong to us in the floor of the closet. And the hotel had some unsightliness. A second floor room that was storage for spare furniture had no window covering and the light was left on, so it looked like a junked up mess visible to all at night. Also the curtains in the laundry room were tied off in a knit and similarly visible to anyone outside the hotel. And dehumidifiers in the first floor hallways. All this implies a hotel badly in need of maintenance and an overhaul in management. Not what we expect of IHG properties. We come to this area regularly to visit family, but we will never stay here again.

We arrived on thursday, when we got to our door it took about 30-40 swipes of the key card to get into our room. We continued to have that problem our entire stay, even got new cards. The problem continued. From the minute we arrived until the minute we left our entire floor smelt like cigarette smoke, being stronger at times. Occasionally smelling it in our room. The pool was freezing and me and my kids would not swim in it. After this experience we will not be back to any holiday inn, for quite some time.

Never stay here! The location of this hotel was ideal for where we needed to be for the weekend. Upon checking in everything went smooth. Then the next morning I went to take a shower and the water ran brown for about 2-3 minutes. I asked the front desk if they could switch our room. She told me it was just the pipes and it would run clear. I explained to her that I understood but that I wouldn’t feel clean showering with that water and would really prefer to switch my room. I’ve stayed here before and this hasn’t been an issue until now. She denied my request and told me that they were sold out. This was a lie because online they have rooms available. Additionally, the woman at the front desk told me the brown water I was supposed to shower with was a non issue when I asked if she herself would feel comfortable showering with brown water.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! Manager is useless and refuses to return phone messages. This hotel moved me to another property 4 days before my trip, leaving me no time to make other arrangements. They sent me to an inferior property and have made it impossible to get a refund for the cost difference. Customer service is horrible. I made my reservation 5 months in advance and was bumped because I had used expedia and they had a group come in. I am an IHG member, but this means nothing to this hotel. So, if you want to be completely unsure if your reservation will be honored and you want to never get a refund for being overcharged then stay here. If not, book anywhere else, but avoid Holiday Inn! I would suggest to avoid any IHG property since their customer service is useless.

Nothing overtly special or wrong about this hotel, but there were a few things I would like to address. The handicap accessible room was fine, minus the bathrooms tub/shower setup. There's grab bars in the shower, but no built in bench (no shower chairs provided) so I have to bring my own (not a problem). ADA requirements call for a shower wand in handicap accessible showers - this hotel, like many others, just has a regular setup. So when I'm in my shower chair, I can't adjust where the shower head is pointing - I have to do that beforehand, and hope I get it right. Hotels don't provide little soaps and shampoo bottles anymore, they're almost always in dispensers bolted to the wall - in this case, the opposite wall of the shower head. They also installed the grab bars in such a way, that it blocks the shower curtain from closing all the way, on both sides. Which now causes water to leak everywhere, and create a slipping problem on the bathroom floor, which isn't ideal for handicap accessible bathroom. There was clearly an exhaust fan on the bathroom ceiling, but only one switch that powered the light. No fan meant their was moisture everywhere, and I don't even take particularly hot showers. Because of this, there was indications of mold all over the bathroom, most noticeably the shower head itself, which had such an accumulation of mold on the bottom, that it caused water to spray in all different directions. I got to the hotel late, which meant there wasn't any handicap parking available, or any parking out front, for that matter. I had to park in the rear of the hotel, which usually isn't a problem because hotels always have rear / side entrances. While this hotel did have side entrances, they were completely unusable when trying to access them from the outside - the handles just freely turned and there was zero indication that the key card was even being read. How long have these been broken? And both side entrances at the same time? The way the roadway goes, it's hard to see traffic in advance, and in true New England fashion, everyone drives like they're going for a personal best lap time at a NASCAR event. Not the end of the world, and not the hotels fault, but it is something to consider. I stay here because I have too, not because I want too.
