Talk about a staff that doesn't care. First, the facility is clearly under maintained. The carpet in the hallways is missing chunks, the ceiling tiles are discolored and cracked, the fixtures in the room are broken (clock would randomly change time, the tp holder was falling out of the wall, the buttons on the chair cushion were broken, the shampoo pump didn't work...), and, and, and... Then, there's the staff. Everyone we talked to was rude, frustrated, and seemed genuinely offended you talked to them. Odd demeanor when you're in the hospitality industry. Finally there's the claimed airport shuttle. They claim to run a shuttle twice every hour. For a hotel that's named after the airport, has literally hundreds of contracted rooms with missed flights, you think they would have a shuttle that could handle more than 10 people per half-hour. I'm not kidding or exaggerating. 10 people per half hour. So, when an airline books the holiday inn designed and advertised as being able to get you to and from the airport with ease, it takes 5 hours to pick up 100 people. A 747 takes over 300 people... Oh, it gets better!!! Lol! Just learned they have a 30-40 passenger shuttle vehicle instead of their 10 passenger vans, but they don't use it because of needed repairs. The back gate for cargo won't open, and the in-van cargo rack on one side is broken. They keep the van out front instead of taking it to the shop. So instead of acting reasonably and getting their advertised shuttle repaired - which will be under $1,000, they prefer to keep their customers waiting for literally hours or to make them miss a flight. I told you. They don't care. Don't stay here.

I had a flight that was delayed around four hours and ended up having to need my connection flight rescheduled. My airline, New Zealand Airlines, scheduled for us to stay at this hotel, giving us free dinner and breakfast, as well as the free shuttle to and from IAH. Instead of staying in a hotel room for the night, we ended up having to stay at the airport and rush to find the last restaurant that was open to get a meal. We waited at terminal C door 105 for AN HOUR AND A HALF waiting for a single shuttle to come and pick us up. Additionally, even if an empty shuttle did come, there was a hoard of over 100 people waiting for their shuttle to this hotel, so we likely wouldn’t be able to get on. We saw only one shuttle for our resort which was already full, while every other hotel had at least 4-5 shuttles come through already. With my understanding that we likely wouldn’t make it in time for the restaurant to be open (it closed at 11:00 PM and it was 9:30 PM), I called the front desk (while we were waiting for the shuttle) to see if we could order food ahead, so we would have something to eat after our 13 hour flight. I called six times. Twice I was transferred to the restaurant and then, told by a robotic voice that the extension I was transferred to didn’t exist and then hung up on. The only time I thought I might receive some helpful information from guest services, the girl put me on hold to ask her manager a question, and then proceeded to pickup the phone and hang up on me. Some of the worst shuttle and guest service I have seen ever. I did not stay in the rooms, but seeing how their service was I doubt it would’ve have been worth it.

I had to stay overnight in Houston(6/16) after weather delayed my flight. I along with what seemed like 50 other people needed rooms and I so pleasantly surprised with the staff and hotel. The ratings didn’t look great but I just needed a place to sleep. The front desk staff were not only incredibly quick and efficient they were genuinely so kind and happy to help us. After 10+ hours of being stuck and feeling completely exhausted it was so nice to be met with such kindness and a smile. Thank you so much to the front desk team that night. The hallway to room looked a little questionable especially after pass ing a weird closed elevator that was broken haha but the room was huge and actually really nice! Overall my stay was great and I’d stay again. Though I’d update the phone message on wether a shuttle is running or not because it did say 24/7 since January but it was not running that night though every other hotel did have a shuttle waiting for people at the airport. Though that’s not a huge deal to me but it might be for others.
