We got this hotel because of all the good reviews. Not sure if we got a bad room or something but this was far from an ideal experience. -we got a room close to elevator, it is abnoxiously loud. It sounds like there is something wrong and everytime it was used, it woke me up. -the A/C was so loud, we had to turn it off to be able to sleep. -we both showered with setting on the hottest temp and it was just warm at best and never actually got hot. -mattress felt like a blowup mattress where it pulls you to the middle of the mattress instead of staying firm. To be fair, we got a good deal on the price and the blanket was comfortable.

I usually like to stay at the Holiday Inn in Whitemarsh, but I wanted to be closer to my sister’s place, so I thought this hotel might be a good option. Sadly, I found out that the hotel wasn’t in great shape. The bathroom wasn't really clean and the shower and toilet weren’t cleaned when I got there. The bed was comfy, though but I’m not planning to come back here anytime soon.

Decent place to stay, convenient location for what I needed. Room felt a little outdated. We ended up with the accessible room, which is right outside the elevator. Elevator noise didn't bother me once I had a small fan going, but it did wake my partner up a few times. We did arrive really late, so I wasn't going to try to switch rooms or anything. Has an electric blind but the blind was ragged and torn. Otherwise decent room. Sink deep enough you could get a wheelchair under it, shower had lots of safety bars but does have a tub, so you have to be able to step in. Second place we stayed at that only has one nightstand by the bed! Staff was not super welcoming, not rude just you could tell they didn't want to be at work lol.

We had a very pleasant stay at this Holiday Inn! The staff was so warm and welcoming! Special shout out to Dee who worked on our behalf to correct a billing problem that was not the Holiday Inn's problem. It was a booking company's error. Dee took charge anyway! She took the time to advocate on our behalf. But, what made Dee so special was that she took the time to get to know us. She never failed to ask how we were. Another shout out to Chef Nell! He was so engaging and welcoming and his food was excellent! Will definitely be staying there again next time we are in the area.

So Chef Nell and Edwin are great. Kenny is really nice and helpful too. Unfortunately, Cindy on the front counter in the mornings can ruin your entire stay. She is rude, slow, and generally difficult, firing her would be a step in the right direction for this establishment, I only hope management is paying attention and that this review helps facilitate that action. Back to the positive, we have been staying here for over 25 years. Breakfast for $5 a person is a very fair deal. Chef Nell seems to take great pride in his position. Kenny also seems to make efforts to be an asset for the hotel and it's customers. We will be back, I will purchase my breakfast tickets in the evening with the lovely ladies on the evening shift and avoid Cindy in the am. Last but not least, the rooms by the elevators can be noisy, we had 211 and the elevator noise was so bad we had to move. Not sure who laid out the room, but putting the head of the beds next to the wall closest to the elevator was a really bad idea. Not sure if the bed against the opposite wall would be enough, but would certainly help. We ended up having to move rooms.
