Being in Indy, I continue looking for food that satisfies that desire for good cuisine that I experience in my travels. Iozzo’s did not do so unfortunately. I went with a friend who works within the food industry and they were way more disappointed than I was. To begin, my personal issue with the meal was with my lasagna. I am not sure what my exact issue was but I found the sauce to be way more meat driven which I did not enjoy. The toasted cheese ravioli was forgettable, side salad just average. My friend got the burrata and said it was fine. Their biggest issue was with their gnocchi. They criticized the flavor and said they had went too heavy with the chicken paste, which was so overbearing they could not finish. Overall, the meal was fine but far more disappointing than anything. You hear about the great restaurants in Indy and this being one of them, it’s quite a take. I hate to leave such a negative review but when a ravioli is $16, lasagna $30, and gnocchi $36, it makes you question to what level the meal should be at. Service was quick and friendly, but I personally won’t be back nor recommend. Just average Italian food at a high premium.

What an amazing family dinner. They were able to accommodate our party of 12 (with prior reservation). Our server Daryl (or his younger brother) was great and on top of the service all night. We never had to wait or ask about anything. He made it fun for everyone. The food was amazing. Great meals for all our variant needs (no dairy, vegetarian, special orders). We spent about $80 per person with appetizers, entrées, drinks, and desserts. And the history of the restaurant is amazing, spanning almost 100 years with lots of drama. Ask about it when you visit. Eating at Iozzo's is a must if you are local or visiting from out of town.

The restaurant is overpriced and does not live up to the “Best Italian restaurant in Indianapolis” claim. I really enjoyed the pasta in Vodka sauce, the salad and the house baked bread! However, the Spinach Artichoke Bruschetta was served with a burnt bread (literally black on the bottom) and the topping was cold straight from the refrigerator. We personally did not enjoy the Shrimp scampi swimming in a pool of wine, but I would consider that as an opportunity for personal development. The seating is mediocre with high tables and uncomfortable rocky chairs, hardly contributing to the “fine dining” experience. Service was good (our server was awesome and very knowledgable). Overall, I think the live grinding of Parmesan and black pepper does not justify the prices on the menu.

The Zozo Shrimp and the salad was probably the only good thing that my husband and I had. His chicken parm tasted like the sauce has been burnt. It just tasted very bitter. My chicken Alfredo didn’t have enough sauce or chicken, perhaps if the chicken was cut smaller it would’ve been better. As for the restaurant itself, it’s a cute location. I think they get more business than they anticipated when they picked the location because the inside is very crowded and small. The tables do look nice. And staff was friendly but busy, she was so busy that she’d walk away before hearing the rest of the order at times. But she was very nice. Overall I’d probably order the shrimp and/or salad to go. I wouldn’t dine in again. Spent $100+ and was mad.

This place has been on my bucket list for a few years now and it did not disappoint. Everything we had was delicious and every detail was thoughtful. The staff was so kind and attentive. The courtyard is the perfect vibe for a friday night date after a long week. We will definitely be back!
