Jem is definitely a gem. I made reservations to meet up with a co worker to do some catching up. Both our first time there. Our server Nick was super nice and attentive. Chef Josh came to our table to ask if we needed anything. He was very welcoming. Honestly, all the staff we encountered was amazing. The ambiance was nice, inviting, and overall a chill vibe. We weren't really hungry and both ordered the Warm Crab & Gulf Shrimp Dip along with glasses of wine. I definitely suggest giving this place a try. I also suggest making reservations. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

We had read that JEM was one of the top rated restaurants in Memphis. They did not disappoint. It was not busy, as Memphis was starting to recover from the ice storm. My wife had a matzo ball stuffed chicken, she absolutely loved it. The real star though was the dipping sauce. It was their homemade chicken broth. It is truly next level. I had the PORK SCHNITZEL SALTIMBOCCA. Very well prepared and had a little bit of crispy pancetta on top. It added a nice saltiness. Both Josh and Emily were gracious friendly hosts. Our server Nick was friendly and efficient. Luke, the bartender is also very skilled. I told him that I would normally have a Manhattan due to the lower sugar content. He recommended the Venetian Boulevardier. I had never had one before and it was so good that I went home and tried to duplicate it. I got close, but I would still highly recommend his. ;-)

Fantastic new addition to Memphis! Nice space, excellent service and delicious food. I had the matzo ball stuffed chicken and it was as good as everyone's taking about. Also tried the gnocchi with an egg in the center which was decadent. And the chocolate cake was incrediblely moist with a fabulous crunchy topping. So good! 🤤

I had the best solo dining date here! The food was amazing and the service was outstanding. From the moment I walked in, everyone on staff made sure I was well taken care of and the space itself is beautiful and intimate. I ordered off the Downtown Dining Week menu and started with the Kimchi Arancini (highly recommend!). My main entrée was a seared salmon that’s not on the menu. They added it as a way to test new dishes and I’m not mad at that at all. I paired it with a featured Tatomer wine, which complemented the salmon perfectly. To end the night, I had the chocolate cake with a glass of milk……the cutest touch. 🥹 JEM truly exceeded my expectations. I’ll definitely be circling back soon!

I came here for happy hour and was seriously impressed! The atmosphere is cozy yet modern—perfect for a relaxing evening. I started with a couple of glasses of wine and sampled a variety of small plates, all of which were beautifully presented and incredibly flavorful. The pate was rich and savory, balanced by grainy mustard and pickled vegetables, served with generous crostini. The crab dip was amazing and creamy. But the true standout? The chocolate cake. Hands down, the best I’ve ever had—decadent, moist, with a perfect balance of texture and richness. It’s the kind of dessert you think about long after it’s gone. Service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and well-paced. The staff made sure everything arrived fresh and hot. This place really nails the details, from plating to flavor to ambiance. If you’re looking for a place with great bites, solid wine, and an unforgettable dessert to top it all off, this is it. I’ll definitely be back!
