The experience at the Kimpton George was good. The employees were awesome, especially Solomon who was literally a helping hand throughout the time of my stay. I would've broken a few nails getting my stuff out of my truck. Also the manager was great, although I forgot her name, but she was amazing also. The area was fine, it wasn't too chaotic. The valet was a great option especially since everyone takes a Uber anyway. But it was time well spent here.

One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. Checked in and John at the front desk was wonderful, we requested a quiet room and he put us in the corner on the top floor. It was silent! We couldn’t hear any street/neighborhood/hotel noise at all. Beds were very comfy with lots of pillows. Bathroom had a large, separate bathtub which we enjoyed. Location is perfect for site seeing with an amazing coffee shop and burger joint just down the block. We went to DC for a concert at NW Stadium and the hotel is just a few minutes walk from the metro station we took to get back when the show was over.

My stay at the Kimpton George Hotel in Washington, DC was a refreshing and seamless experience from start to finish. Check-in was quick, easy, and handled with professionalism, setting the tone for the rest of the stay. The room was clean, well-prepared, and comfortable upon arrival. Everything functioned exactly as it should, the refrigerator worked properly (a welcome change), and the internet was fast and reliable throughout my stay. It’s clear this property is well-managed and attentive to the details that truly impact a guest’s experience. A smooth, stress-free stay in every sense. I would gladly return.

We had a very disappointing experience at Kimpton George Hotel. On our first night, we arrived around 8 pm and the front desk already seemed badly understaffed. There were around a dozen people waiting, and for about 10 minutes no one was properly attending the desk. After we finally got to our rooms, things got worse. Calls to the front desk for basic items like towels and body wash kept going unanswered, so we had to go downstairs in person. We also asked if there was a microwave to heat some takeaway food, and instead of having a normal guest-use area, staff had to bring one out from storage, which felt very inconvenient and disorganised. The most serious issue was that both rooms assigned to our family had broken heat. One room’s HVAC turned on but never produced warm air, and the other room’s unit would not turn on at all. Engineering came multiple times, but one room had to be changed after we had already unpacked, and the other could not be fixed that night with no suitable replacement room available for the family staying there. That meant the elderly and the children were left in a cold room late into the night and had trouble sleeping. We ended up spending about three hours of our first night dealing with front desk delays, engineering visits, and room changes instead of resting. For a hotel in Washington, D.C. charging these rates, the level of maintenance and service was far below what should reasonably be expected.

I recently stayed at the Kimpton George in DC for an extended visit, and the staff truly made the experience exceptional. The housekeeping team was fantastic — always warm, welcoming, and consistently greeted me each day. I was traveling with my two dogs, and they even took the time to compliment how well-behaved they were, which I really appreciated. The front desk team was equally impressive. John, Marcel, and Sydney were all incredibly kind and professional. Sydney especially stood out — she always acknowledged me, checked in on how my stay was going, and made it easier to be away from home. I have IHG status and stay at a lot of hotels, and this is one that genuinely makes me want to come back. Highly recommend.
