Walking into La Grande Boucherie feels like stepping into a Parisian brasserie that somehow landed in Midtown Manhattan. Half the experience is the food. The other half is simply looking around. The dining room is gorgeous. Wood paneling, café-style tables, Art Nouveau details, greenery overhead… every corner feels thoughtfully designed. It’s one of those restaurants where you catch yourself looking up between bites. The menu sticks to the French classics, and that’s exactly what you want. French onion soup? Of course. Croque Monsieur? Croque Madame? Steak frites? They’re all here. No need to reinvent the wheel. I ordered the steak sandwich with caramelized onions, Gruyère, horseradish aioli, and an au jus for dipping, all tucked inside a freshly baked baguette. It was excellent. The steak was flavorful, the Gruyère added just the right richness, and the horseradish aioli gave it a little kick without taking over. The au jus tied everything together, and the fresh-cut fries on the side didn’t hurt either. Service was friendly, prompt, and efficient. Exactly what you’d hope for in a busy restaurant like this. Overall, La Grande Boucherie understands that dining out is about more than just the food. The room is every bit as memorable as the meal, and together they create one of the more enjoyable dining experiences in Midtown. If you’re looking for classic French food in a setting that fully commits to the part, this place is an easy recommendation.

Whenever the restaurant is built inside of an atrium between two buildings in Manhattan , it gives a spectacular view and ambience. The food is typical bistro style food casual. Escargot, steak tartare, escargot 🐌, Gaspacho, etc. The food here is really good. Staff is very nice. Being in the atrium really speaks for itself that’s the main selling point. Great for date night. It’s like being in a Parisian bistro back in the early 1900s. Give this place a try if you’re in the area. We will definitely be going back.

La Grande Boucherie is a beautiful spot for brunch. The service was attentive, and the food was excellent m. The mimosas were also a highlight and definitely worth ordering. The space itself is stunning, with an Art Nouveau design that makes the entire experience feel special. From the oyster bar to every corner of the dining room, everything is thoughtfully decorated and visually impressive. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and lively without being overwhelming. I would absolutely recommend it for brunch with friends, family, or any occasion where you want a memorable setting.

La Grande Boucherie: A Standout Pre-Theater Gem (January 2024) My partner and I visited La Grande Boucherie in January 2024, catching an early dinner before a show. We decided to take advantage of their pre-theater menu, and it honestly ended up being a highlight of our trip. For the price, it was a fantastic deal—one of the best values we’ve found for a set menu in Manhattan, and easily one of our favorite dining experiences in the city. The food really hit the mark across the board. The mussels were incredibly fresh and served in a rich, savory broth that we couldn't stop dipping our bread into. The steak frites was a total win as well; the steak was seasoned perfectly and cooked to a flawless medium-rare, paired with those classic, crispy bistro-style frites. To finish, we tried both dessert options on the menu, and both were delicious. It was the perfect high note to end on before heading to the theater. What really pulled the whole experience together was the service, which remained attentive and professional despite the pre-theater rush. The timing was handled perfectly for our curtain call, allowing us to enjoy the meal without feeling rushed. The atmosphere at La Grande Boucherie is stunning, with its soaring ceilings and bustling French brasserie energy. If you’re looking for a reliable spot near the theater district that actually delivers on quality and value, this is it. Even two years later, we still talk about this meal.

Such an amazing experience. This restaurant is absolutely beautiful, the patio has beautiful indoor views, especially with the holiday decor, but be aware that the patio is very cold during the winter time, even though it is "in doors" it is not very temperature controlled. Inside there is also great seating in front of the bar and upstairs with views below. The food was also deliscios but the drinks stole the show, they were very uniquely crafted and insanely good. Our server Ryan provides us great recommendation and amazing service. There is a lot of great food in NYC but this has now become one of my favorite places, I will be back.
