I stopped by Metro Diner and Bar while walking around downtown Atlanta and it turned out to be a pretty decent spot to take a break. The place has a relaxed vibe, nothing too fancy, just comfortable enough to sit down and enjoy a meal. I ordered a simple dish and it came out hot and fresh. The portions were fair, and the flavors were good without being over the top. Service was also okay, not super fast but friendly enough. Overall, it’s a solid option if you’re in the area and just want something easy and satisfying without high expectations.

Wandered in here from our conference hotel for breakfast. Great service from Christian and the food was perfect. Check out the pictures that doesn't do it justice. Will be back!

We checked into our hotel and wandered around the area looking for options open around 10am and they definitely felt like an oasis. The service was great, the food was really good and the ambiance was really fun.

Had a gyro. One of the best I have ever had. The cheesecake however was outstanding!

Good diner experience. Good waitresses. Typical food, not gourmet at all.

We ate a late lunch at the Metro Diner in downtown Atlanta this Saturday around 3pm. Upon arriving, the music in the entryway was blaring loud with a few TV screens showing Old music videos. We had to walk up three separate flights of stairs which are rather steep, so if you have any walking restrictions, it would be difficult for you to enter this restaurant. Once seated, our waiter arrived promptly and was very friendly and attentive. The vibe in the top of the restaurant reminded me of a typical 70's diner, and thankfully the music's volume was much lower. I ordered a strawberry banana crepe and my husband ordered a turkey club sandwich with onion rings. The crepe was sub par at best. I'd rank it a 3 out of 10. The crepe tasted like a stale flour tortilla- dry and flavorless, but the strawberries and bananas were tasty. The dollops of canned whipped cream added a little moisture, and the drizzle of Nutella added a tad of flavor, but there was no mention of the Nutella in the menu description and I don't like chocolate, so that was a negative for me. The turkey club sandwich, on the other hand, was fairly tasty, but not something to rave about. I'd rank it a 6 out of 10. It was baked on a grill like a panini, and the bread had the texture of a ribbed waffle fry. All of the layers of the club sandwich held nicely together, and it was very thick. It was not juicy, and seemed rather dry at first, but that was because it did not have any dressing on it. Once you put mayo on, it seemed to have a lot more flavor. The onion rings were delicious though- at least an 8 out of 10! I'd rank this restaurant a 3 stars since there is no parking, lots of stairs to climb, and mediocre food. I won't be returning. There are way too many other restaurants to try that are hopefully better in downtown Atlanta.

Worst $90 Ive ever spent! Placed a take out order on Friday night. The order was ready in about 20 minutes. The downstairs was nice , music playing & tvs at the bar area. We approached an employee stand upstairs to get the order. Employees were cutting up amongst themselves, one seemed bothered we interrupted. Got the food , checked the plates before we left. We were missing a grilled chicken. They went & got it for us. We go back to hotel to eat, 5 minutes away. There was 2 sandwiches missing the bacon. The sandwich bread for the bacon & egg was soggy. Onion rings soggy as well. The beefy fries were disgusting! Overwhelming taste of seasoning. Definitely would not go back.
