We’d been wanting to try Moonshine bc of their delicious buffet and knew there’d probably be a long wait so my husband went ahead and made reservations for us. Our table was ready when we arrived but we didn’t realize you had to specifically request a booth to be seated at one, which is what works best for us and our two kids. Taylor was the host when we arrived and not only greeted and seated us, but also ended up helping wait on us as well. She was absolutely wonderful and still went out of her way to make the booth happen for us. She checked on us often, asked how we were doing and made sure our kids were comfortable the entire time. The food was good, but honestly Taylor’s service is what stood out most. That kind of service is exactly why people want to continue to come back.

Nice place to stop for lunch. Got there when the place opened, so we were immediately sat, and service was attentive. Our server Ben was excellent. They start you off with some fresh popcorn. My wife and I each had a couple local beers. We got the hot honey sweet potatoes as an appetizer. My wife got the harvest salad and it was very flavorful. I had the Backyard Chicken sandwich with fries. It was pretty darn big and packed with toppings and very juicy. Your food comes with an order of cornbread. I ordered a Jimmy Cash bourbon, since this place was known for their bourbon whiskey. It was very smooth and had notes of vanilla that lingered. Overall wonderful experience, a little bit pricey, but worth it!

It was a busy restaurant, we didn’t have a reservation but they managed to fit us in. The complimentary popcorn was a cute offering. I had a beyond burger which was delicious and my husband had the ribs, he really enjoyed them. This was a lovely place to get food while we were in Austin, definitely recommend!

This place is awesome. The ambience, service and food is all top notch. We enjoyed the brisket burnt ends quesadilla, fried green tomatoes, chicken fried steak and chicken & waffles. All were delicious and the portions were pretty big, all at a great price. Jamie did an amazing job waiting on us and made sure to keep our cups full. Oh, and the banana pudding was phenomenal. If we ever find ourselves back in Austin, we'll be sure to visit this establishment again.

Decided to come check this spot out specifically for the chicken fried steak. Parking here was a bit challenging but luckily we were able to find street parking down the street. Probably because we came on a weekday. We didnt need a reservation but it is probably better to make one because it did get busy later on in the evening. They are known for their chicken fried steak as it was rated one of the top best spots in Texas for this and it did not disappoint. My bae got the chicken fried steak and I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with mac and cheese, that were both delicious and a little spicy. They use chipotle in the chicken fried steak gravy to give it a kick but it is not too much and is balanced. They also bring out complimentary popcorn before the meal that was really good. Then you also get complimentary corn bread served with the meal that was sooo yum, it was served with a honey butter that was similar to the texas roadhouse one but a elevated version that I couldnt get over. For dessert we shared the banana pudding and it was hugee!!! Def enough for 3-4 people to share but we still finished it all 😳😮💨 Although i do think the banana pudding could use a few more wafers it was still amazing. They also have a great margarita. Will definitely come back & bring family.
