I had a really great experience at this salon. Ariel did my hair so beautifully, and I truly love how it turned out. She was very kind, professional, and talented. The other staff members were also very welcoming and friendly, which made the experience even better. I would definitely come back again, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get their hair done. Thank you again to Ariel and the team for the amazing service!

To start out, I have been here once before and it was fine and I’m sure every other salon is fine. BUT I don’t even know what to say, but I am devastated and they ruined my natural hair. I asked for a clear gloss. Clear. She looked at me like I had eight eyes then the manager told her to mix it with 20 volumes. Come to find out AFTER that’s a peroxide that lifts your hair color off. After about 15 minutes of this on dry hair, my hair was orange. I, of course, freaked out. As I’ve never dyed my hair before. The worst part is they tried to tell me that was my NATURAL hair color at least 5x, which is just mean after you dye someone’s hair ORANGE! They couldn’t even take accountability. Then, when that didn’t work, they told me it was my fault… blamed me for my orange hair. Of course, I was hysterical. The manager completely threw her employee under the bus even though she told her to use 20 volumes on my hair and goes “well honey I didn’t touch your hair” with a disgusting attitude after someone ruined my hair and also was the one to repeatedly gaslight me. They never apologized… not once. I had to get my mom to come cause I was hysterical and they were just standing there blaming me. Then they had the nerve to apologize to the other clients in there for my behavior after turning me orange. Completely ruined my hair. I was hoping to never have to dye it. I only ever got a clear gloss and trim. Now, for the foreseeable future I will have to dye my hair and spend hundreds of more dollars on hair that will never look like my natural hair again. All because they didn’t know that 20 volume is a peroxide that lightens your natural hair. I’m completely devastated, but what is done is done, and luckily I got a fantastic salon down the street called Mane Atelier to fix it back to something similar to my natural hair on short notice and Michelle even came in on her day off after seeing what moxie did to my hair. So, at the end of the day nothing can be done but I’m devastated.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at Moxie Salon & Beauty Bar of Brentwood. Two months ago, I had extensions installed and was told directly by the owner that I was receiving 100% human hair. I was also quoted $750 for the total service. I had two witnesses present when I paid my $150 deposit, and they both heard the same pricing and confirmation that the hair was human and had to be purchased through the salon. During installation, this was again confirmed in front of my daughter, including that the hair could be colored and bleached, as I had specifically discussed doing multi-color styling. I ultimately paid over $900. Within just two months, the extensions have begun falling apart. Even more concerning, the hair does not behave like human hair at all—it will not lift or process when attempting to color or bleach it. I have made multiple attempts to contact the owner directly to resolve this and have received no response. While the stylist has tried to reach out, the representations about the hair and pricing came from the owner. For the amount paid, the quality, lack of transparency, and lack of communication are unacceptable. I do have photos documenting the condition of the extensions, as well as witnesses to what was promised. I would strongly encourage others to ask detailed questions and proceed with caution before spending this kind of money. I would have preferred to resolve this privately, but after multiple unanswered attempts, I felt it was important to share my experience.
