The room itself was comfortable, and the check-in service was pleasant. However, the valet parking experience was extremely disappointing. The hotel only offers valet parking, which costs $45 per night, not including tips. When we requested our car, we were told it might take some time, which we understood. However, after the car was brought out, no one informed us. The staff member apparently left after the shift changed, and we were left waiting without any update. After about 40 minutes, we finally went outside to check and found that our car had already been parked there. We had only needed the car for a quick five-minute drive nearby, so waiting 40 minutes due to poor communication was very frustrating. For a mandatory and expensive valet service, this level of service is unacceptable. No one took responsibility for the delay, yet we were still expected to pay the parking fee and tip. Everything else about the stay was good, but this one issue significantly lowered our overall satisfaction. If valet is the only parking option, the hotel needs to manage it much better. Otherwise, it would be better to let guests park their own cars.

We enjoyed our stay. Spacious rooms. The location is unbeatable for exploring downtown. Next door is Providence Place Mall. I highly recommend requesting a room with a view of the beautifully lit state capitol building. From the friendly front desk team to a relaxing evening cocktail, the top notch service makes this hotel the perfect choice for a sophisticated downtown retreat.

Good - Get a State House view. It's worth it and magnificent. - Great location. Visit the state house interior! Bad - As at many Marriotts, there was wifi trouble. It would randomly work for some devices but not others. Front desk were of no help and couldn't get my phone on wifi. Gave me a 800 help number to try. This should never happen, and has never happened to me anywhere else. No wifi = cannot do work. - TV set up bad. No access to settings, and TV stuck on soap opera effect motion smoothing, and set in vivid showroom mode. Looked terrible. HDMI input did not work. - Parking is rip off valet $45. It's $25 at the parking garage at the mall around the corner.

A comfortable stay, this was. My original room had an issue with the AC, but the staff handled it quickly and made things right without any hassle. I was moved to a new room with ice-cold AC and was able to enjoy the rest of my stay. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and every staff member I interacted with was friendly and helpful. Problems can happen at any hotel. How they're handled is what matters. This team took care of it. A return stay, I would make.

First time in RI and the furthest East I have ever been in the US. I didn’t know what to expect as you hear stories of the East. But this place was amazing. I was able to park and walk everywhere. The room is very comfortable. I will say it took a good min to get the door open to the room but that’s the only negative I have to say.
