It’s always a great time to grab a salad with my wife at this establishment. It reliably has fresh tasting ingredients. And the atmosphere is always pleasant, open and airy. And the services always impeccable. When my app failed to recognise my birthday this year, the manager took care of it quickly and in a friendly way. One of our favourite restaurants!

The Atmosphere is only one star because the stores AC was out but when I tell you that Jamie did a excellent job out serving and fixing our food. We went there at 4:30 and she had been in that heat all day!! And maintained a great personality while fixing our food. She deserves the full credit.

I'm not sure who this young man was.I could tell he was overwhelmed, and he was still very pleasant. He was the only gentleman in there working today and I had to make sure make sure I tipped him well.

Updated Review: I came back to see how things have changed since my last review and I’m happy with my visits. Everything is still delicious, and portion sizes are consistent and reasonable. Old Review: The salads are tasty but consistency is a problem. Sometimes I’m missing toppings, other times they give a light sprinkle of toppings and sometimes the salads are quite light. Feels like even though I’m ordering the largest size, I’m given an amount that would fill the smallest size. Also didn’t appreciate my last visit. I ordered two salads with similar toppings, except one had no eggs and I wanted jalapeños on it. I got more eggs than normal, the jalapeños weren’t there, but I got a hair in its place. I threw it out. Didn’t have the time to grab anything else so my husband and I split a salad for lunch.

Service was a HUGE turnoff. And brown/red edges on my lettuce was unappealing as well. Lettuce was not freshly cut. The biggest issue I had was when we walked in, we were the only two people that walked up to the counter. A woman came over to us and began our order. I asked for kale, ... and you guessed it, they were out of kale. While this woman was making our salads, 2 other people walked in. She stopped preparing our food and went to the other two people. WTH??.. . And prepared their bases so she would have everybody's salad bowls, lined up before toppings went on?? During that time, while we were twiddling our thumbs waiting for the other people to get their bowls started, a young man came over and started asking us about our mix ins. And then our original girl took our bowls and finished more mix-ins. Meanwhile, these two people are walking back and forth crisscrossing over each other over the food. Again... WTH?? Why didn't she just finish our order and walk us through and the guy would have taken the next order and just walked them through?? So after the criss-crossing, the original girl rang us up. $40 dollars for 2 salads and 2 drinks. Those mix-ins will add up super fast to one very expensive salad. No trays. So you have to be able to hold your salad and your drink and not help someone else with theirs, should they not be able to carry their own food. Not much space at the drink station for you to manage your food and get drinks without crisscrossing over your own food. But there seems to be a table across from the drink station to put your food down. I think that's what it was for. Again while people pass by it. Including order pickups. Never again will I visit this place. And I will never recommend it. Chopt has their system together and all fresh ingredients. Go to Chopt instead. Not this place.

I am extremely disappointed and honestly furious about the experience I had at Salad Kitchen this evening. What upset me even more than the situation itself was the complete dismissal by the manager afterward. I entered the restaurant and was the only customer in line. I proceeded through each station in order — lettuce, protein, vegetables — and made it all the way to the final station for eggs, seeds, nuts, and dressing. At that point, all that was left was for my dressing lids to be put on, for me to grab bread, pay, and leave. While I was standing there waiting for the employee to finish my order, another customer walked in BEHIND me. Instead of completing my order first, the employee stopped helping me entirely and started taking the new customer through the entire line from beginning to end while I stood there waiting. I had to WAIT right there in line while the person BEHIND me got waited on. I then had to wait approximately 5–8 minutes while the second customer slowly decided on ingredients, changed her mind multiple times, and completed the entire process. Only after that customer reached the same final station was my order finally completed. I was the first customer in line, yet somehow I became the one forced to wait while the customer behind me received nearly uninterrupted service. That is NOT how assembly-line style restaurants normally operate. Every similar restaurant I’ve ever been to finishes the current customer before moving on to the next one. What pushed me from irritated to absolutely livid was the manager’s response. I explained calmly why I felt the situation was wrong and disrespectful. Instead of acknowledging my concern in any way, he defended the employee completely, insisted nothing was done incorrectly, and essentially brushed me off with “have a nice evening.” No apology. No ownership. No attempt to understand why a loyal customer was upset. I have visited this location approximately five times in the last four weeks, but after tonight, I will never return. The issue was not just the wait — it was the poor customer handling and the dismissive attitude afterward. Never again will I go there. Customers should not be skipped over after already being nearly finished with their order, and they certainly should not be made to feel like their frustration is unreasonable when they speak up about it. I am still furious!!

Probably the best place in Charlotte to be able to make your own salad with the toppings that you want and they’re not premade portion sizes are huge and great staff always
