In my experience, Atlanta Shakespeare Tavern and the Atlanta Shakespeare Company always deliver high quality performances. I've been attending shows at the Tavern for several years now. The Shakespeare productions are second to none in terms of their direction, the commitment of performers, costuming, fight choreography, and overall production value. ASC presents Shakespeare's works in what's called "original practice," a performance method that seeks to mimic how Shakespeare's plays would have been performed when the Bard was living. It's a uniquely entertaining way to enjoy these timeless works. I would be remiss if I didn't offer my high praise for the kitchen at the Tavern. The food quality is excellent, and the service is just the best.

We’ve been to Shakespeare’s Tavern several times and have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. The food is reasonably priced and delicious. There’s not a bad seat in the house. The acting is superb and the plays are classics yet with a modern twist. We recently discovered the smaller stage downstairs that they call the Porpentine. We joined the Belle Esprit group for a staged reading of Northanger Abbey. It was small but very intimate and an absolutely wonderful experience. We’ve been wondering what took us so long to discover the joy that is Shakespeare’s Tavern.

We started going to Shakespeare’s because a few friends were in a play there and it was such a delightful surprise :) we see a show there everything few months and it’s always so nice. The staff is crazy friendly and you always notice someone from a previous play working. The ticket costs are responsibly priced and the food options are decent if you prefer to eat there. Every play we have seen has been so great and well produced. My favorite has been Pride and Prejudice :) highly recommend going if you havent before or if it has been awhile.

We went here for the first time and it was beyond amazing! The staff and volunteers were so kind. Mary was one of the volunteers and made us feel so welcome, especially since we’d never been here before. The food was good and one of the chefs gave great recommendations. The acting and show was perfect and I love that they stood out in the lobby meeting and greeting after the show. We will be back!!!

Late post: Oh was this an experience! We had never been here before. With the courtesy of the library, we decided to visit. The directions leaving the parking lot was very confusing. Overall attending this show was fantastic. You can order food at this establishment and eat inside before the play starts. They change their menu seasonally. The food is catered in. We ordered the Pull BBQ pork sandwich with the choice of chips or a side salad. We chose the salad. We had sweet tea to drink. The have table servers will come by and take your plate when you are finished eating. The ambiance of the place is an Old English Pub look. Check it out.
