The food was very good especially the orange pepper wings recommended by DJ our server. The Mac and Cheese and greens were also on point. The real MVP was our server DJ. He was exceptional! He made recommendations, he was attentive, but not over bearing, and very polite and professional. We are coming back to try more options on the menu, but we will request to sit in DJ's section.

Drink was small but fairly strong, appx $20. Food was mediocre at best. The best item on the plate was the cornbread waffle. And it really wasn't all that great. My chicken had to be replaced bc it was not prepared fresh. It was served lukewarm and a bit soggy as if it were sitting under a heat lamp. Two piece chicken, the 2 sides, minute serving of rice/gravey & waffle, $26 bucks. Totally not worth it. RR wasn't clean. Decent vibes, however. Service was ok.

Our first time visiting Houston and Taste Kitchen. All the food was good and had a lot of flavor . The service was good . We went on a Sat around 4 pm . They didn’t let us reserve a table ahead of time when we called in . So it was 45 min wait for a table and then another 20 min before the waiter came to our table . We will definitely visit again if we in town

I absolutely LOVED this place! ❤️❤️ Tay was my server, and I highly recommend asking for her if you can. She was patient, kind, attentive, and incredibly sweet throughout my visit. I ordered the oxtails and requested a substitution of white rice and gravy instead of grits, and it was AMAZING-; seriously, yummy, yummy, yummy! The portions were generous, and they gave me huge pieces of oxtail, which I was so grateful for. They were happy to accommodate my request, and everything came out perfectly. My friend ordered the smothered chicken, and it looked absolutely delicious. After seeing it, I definitely want to try it next time! Whether you're looking for a place to hang out with friends, enjoy a date night, or just relax and soak up the atmosphere, this spot is a great choice. I'll definitely be back! ❤️ Highly recommend! ❤️

I never leave a review!! This place has my business.. I am newer to Houston and a friend came to visit for my birthday . I am soooo glad we went to this spot. Let me first say that our server Jeff gave the entire rundown on the menu🔥 had us ready to try every thing available😂 we ordered 2 jerk lamb chops and 2 original as appetizers during happy hour🤤 and baby I coulda got up and kissed the cook.. jerk 10/10 original 9.5/10 they were so flavorful and tender all the way through... my friend literally debated ordering more to take with her😭... the frozen watermelon dusse was great and I only needed 1 drink🍹 and it was good all the way gone 10/10 . The oxtails, Smothered chicken, Mac n cheese,and yams taste like the ansestors were partying in the kitchen and were all 10/10💋💋 the cornbread taste like a mix of cornbread and hot water cornbread it was about 8/10 for me but I will try the biscuit next time.. The vibe was great! Good music!! Wonderful staff!! The price was right.. Top Notch Server..Very filling portions... I will be back...
