A foodie friend and I decided it was time to splurge on a short trip to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor to finally experience The Bygone. Knowing a spring Friday evening would likely be busy, we wisely made reservations in advance. Upon arrival, the restaurant was buzzing with energy, yet we were seated promptly at a window-side table offering a beautiful view of the harbor and the fading colors of sunset. Service throughout the evening was polished, courteous, and knowledgeable. Our server, KJ, walked us through the menu with concise yet thoughtful descriptions of several dishes and their flavor profiles, while also offering cocktail and entrée recommendations. We followed several of his suggestions and were glad we did. I chose the Bygone Daisy while my companion ordered the Back Alley Blues. Both cocktails were beautifully presented, balanced, and genuinely delicious — so much so that we each ordered a second round, which is somewhat rare for us. To begin, we shared a dozen oysters and a Caesar salad before moving on to Dover sole for my friend and the filet for myself, along with an order of mac and cheese for the table. The oysters themselves were excellent: chilled, fresh, and flavorful. However, the accompanying sauces didn’t quite rise to the same level. The cocktail sauce lacked the horseradish punch we prefer, the mignonette leaned a bit too heavily into vinegar, and the hot sauce, while decent, felt somewhat ordinary by comparison. Still, the quality of the oysters carried the dish overall. The Caesar salad was perhaps the evening’s weakest note — a rather modest portion of roughly chopped romaine hearts with decent dressing and cheese, though the anchovies were particularly good and appreciated by my dining companion. KJ paced the meal exceptionally well, checking in thoughtfully without ever hovering, and we were also greeted by a manager who seemed genuinely invested in ensuring guests enjoyed their experience. Our entrées arrived just as the sunset painted the harbor in vivid evening color, which certainly elevated the moment. My filet was tender and enjoyable, though slightly below my preferred medium-rare temperature. The Dover sole, which I sampled for the first time, was excellent — delicately crisp on the exterior with a rich buttery lemon sauce that complemented the fish beautifully. The mac and cheese was flavorful, though just a touch dry; a creamier finish would have made it more memorable. We ended the evening with the Peanut Butter Bar, crème brûlée, and an espresso martini. The desserts ranged from pleasant to good rather than exceptional, though the ice cream accompanying the Peanut Butter Bar was easily the standout bite of the trio. Overall, The Bygone delivers exceptional service, expertly crafted cocktails, and one of the best dining views in the city. The food itself ranged from good to occasionally very good, though not always at the level its premium pricing suggests. Certainly worth experiencing at least once for the atmosphere and hospitality alone, even if it may not become an immediate repeat destination given the many outstanding dining options in the area.

Ok… Is there a 6th Star…. What a wonderful experience this was. The service and food is truly unique and worth it all. Each dish was an artistry is flavor design for taste and visually. The view is awesome and you can see all of the City. This is a higher end place. They are pushing the limits on prices and a bit overboard, yet the food and everything else make it all worth the experience. I had the carpaccio, octopus and actually the meat balls and fish. Highly recommend at least a drink from here and everything else you have time for.

Went to BYGONE yesterday evening with a party of four for a birthday celebration for a close friend, and it was a great experience. It was a little busy when entering since the restaurant is inside a hotel building on the 29th floor, and valet parking was packed, but it was still efficient and well organized. Once upstairs, the atmosphere was festive but calm — lively without being too loud. We dined during golden hour, and the harbor views were beautiful. The restaurant was also shaded well by remote, which made the setting even more comfortable. Our server was excellent, and the food and drinks were very well done. We shared the Maryland Crab Dip and pretzels with crab, then had the Signature Prime Rib, Australian Rack of Lamb, Koji Aged Filet Mignon, and Maryland Crab Cake, with sides of broccoli, mac and cheese, and potatoes. Cocktails like the Bygone Buck, Ghost of Smokey Joe, and The Entertainer were also excellent. A beautiful spot for a celebration or special night out in Baltimore.

Beautiful Birthday Dinner With an Amazing View — But Watch Out for the Valet My husband took me here on March 6th for my birthday dinner, and it was such a beautiful experience. I highly recommend getting a table with a view — our night view was stunning and made the whole evening feel special. Our waiter was very informative and had excellent customer service from start to finish. The food was on point: - Steak: 10/10 - Lamb chops: 7/10 - Mac & cheese: 8/10 - Brussels sprouts: 10/10 - Tuna tartare: 10/10 - Crab dip: 10/10 The view tables are a little small, but they still worked perfectly for us. Parking Warning: We were told the restaurant offered valet at a certain price, but when we pulled up, the valet tried to charge us something completely different. They even claimed they don’t work with or associate with the restaurant and asked for $60 to park. When we declined, the two men told us the parking garage was full. My husband drove in anyway — and just like we thought, there was plenty of parking. Be aware: some of the valet workers are scamming. Overall, the dinner was amazing, and we definitely recommend this spot. Me and my husband will be back soon to try their brunch — I’ll update my review after that visit.

The team at The Bygone is truly exceptional. Even though my reservation didn’t go through online, they still managed to accommodate us and seated us at what turned out to be the most incredible table. A special thank you to Moody and Crystal for going above and beyond to make our evening so memorable. The food was absolutely outstanding. My personal favorites were the Foie Gras and the Beef Tartare, both beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Their wine selection is also impressive, with wonderful options from aperitif all the way to dessert wines, making the experience feel thoughtfully curated from start to finish. It has been an incredibly busy month for me, so this evening felt like such a gift. Being able to slow down, relax, and feel so well taken care of meant a lot. I had booked this night to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and thanks to the amazing team, it truly became a special and unforgettable celebration. Thank you again to everyone at The Bygone for making the night feel so warm, welcoming, and memorable.
