  I had my birthday dinner all by myself there the other night. They were very accommodating. The food was excellent. The waiter Chris who was also working the bar was very attentive even with juggling multiple customers both at table tops and at the bar. And some mystery person bought my dinner for me! He came over and said somebody who wants to remain anonymous would like to pay for your dinner tonight. So if you are a single lady going out solo for your birthday, I suggest going there cuz you never know maybe somebody will buy your dinner too!

  This is an old world restaurant, dark wood, low lighting, and smooth music in the background (you can have a conversation without raising your voice). This place serves great STEAKS, classic sides, and Great desserts. The staff is DRESSED and professional, the wine list is excellent. We both had a porcini rubbed bone in Ribeye, this was a large piece of excellently cooked beef. Mushroom sides, and the bread basket completed the meal. We had an excellent Reserve Tempranillo, the Muga, which complemented the beef very well. Ralph was our waiter and did his job in the upmost professional manner, he even took his phone out to search on which area of Spain produced our wine. Jeff the Maitre d’ came by multiple times to check on us. Can’t say enough about the service, quality of food, and wine list. Our Desserts were wonderful, you will not leave hungry. Highly recommend this place, not a better place in Austin to have a CLASSIC fine dining experience. Men throw on a sport coat, ladies throw on a dress, and enjoy the upscale classic experience!

  Our 2nd time visiting tonight was for my husband’s 50th birthday and my oh my did they make it special! From the decorated table, to the hand written card, complimentary dessert and VIP style photos in the wine cellar, compliments of our server, Thomas who was very sweet and took good care of us! We started with the Tuna Tartare which was one of the best I’ve had. The avocado, mango & sriracha sauce made a very nice flavor profile! My husband went for the Dry Aged NY/KC Strip Au Poivre With Courvoisier Cream that he enjoyed so much the first time and it hit the spot yet again! I chose the Sliced Filet Mignon With Cipollini Onions, Wild Mushrooms And Fig Essence which was exquisite! Each element created a beautiful balance, I will be back for this steak again! The sides we chose were asparagus and mashed potatoes, both fabulous! Potatoes were creamy and not too rich and the asparagus had a nice crunch to them (why are the ones I make always mushy!? 😩😆) The complimentary mini desserts were a brûlée style cheesecake and flourless chocolate espresso cake…both of which were delicious! Though we had to take a bite of each and pack the rest up as we were stuffed! Which Thomas gladly did for us! All in all wonderful experience! Thank you Capital Grille for making my husband’s 50th birthday dinner so memorable!

  The food was good. Not many options, but what they had was definitely on the higher end. Would I come again? Probably not—but it was a great experience and I’m glad I tried it. They even gave us roses, which was super sweet! 🌹 Okay… maybe I would come again. It just depends. For now, the adventure of trying new restaurants continues for me lol. The service was good too, not amazing, but solid. Definitely make a reservation before you go they stay booked for a while!

  I came here for a corporate event. My main man Michael hooked me up with a mystery mocktail that’s was exquisite. The food was alright. My steak (rib eye) was oily and burnt. Appetizers were good. I really liked the calamari. Other than that no complaints. 7/10 Steaks 🥩
