Great spot! The Mac and cheese bowls are excellent and we got the small. There was plenty! Tried the chocolate and carrot cake. Both were delicious and way cheaper than most charge. Only 6 a slice. They were homemade and so good! The lady behind the counter was great and fun to talk to. She explained our questions to us and made solid recommendations. I see why the reviews are so high. They are well deserved!!

I have been searching for this bread pudding for 35 years, ever since a favorite restaurant closed down. Angie’s Bread Pudding at The Food Shoppe was the closest I have ever found to what I remembered — sweet, rich, and perfectly balanced, with crispy caramelized bits of bread throughout. The sauce was delicious and served in exactly the right proportion: enough to make it indulgent without drowning the dessert. The portion was large, the texture was perfect, and every bite reminded me why I have been chasing this dessert for so long. I even spoke with Angie on the phone afterward to tell her how much I enjoyed it. You can tell she puts her heart and soul into her food, and it shows. Absolutely worth ordering.

DELICIOUS🤩 first time trying catfish and jambalaya…. Did not disappoint!!! Excellent customer service and tasty food 10/10. Huge portion sizing, definitely worth visiting and sharing with loved ones - much love from Australia (wish we had this food down under)

We're in downtown Atlanta at the aquarium and looking for a place to grab lunch. I pull up Google and see The Food Shoppe and it's great ratings. Plus, Creole, so I'm in. Short walk there from Centennial Park. We almost miss it. The definition of a hole in the wall. For a brief moment we almost passed. That would have been a mistake. Don't let my 4 stars on atmosphere fool you - the food is absolutely amazing. I got the shrimp po boy. One of the best I've had and clearly fried up fresh when ordered. Wife got the shrimp and grits. They were a bit different than other shrimp and grits I've had, but they were excellent. The mac and cheese was extra cheesy and delicious. Stop in and grab a po boy. You won't be disappointed.

I’m still thinking about this place days later. My husband and I went in expecting a good meal, but what we experienced was on a completely different level. Every dish tasted like it was made with intention — vibrant flavors, incredibly fresh ingredients, and that authentic touch you just can’t fake. We kept looking at each other after every bite like, “Is this real?” It was that good. Beyond the food, the genuine kindness and warmth we were shown made the whole evening even more special. You can tell they truly care about what they do and about the people they serve. We left feeling full, happy, and honestly a little amazed. If you’re on the fence about trying this spot, take this as your sign. It’s absolutely worth it.
