We have been to the Lobbyist many times. Each time it is fantastic. Last night was wonderful. They were quite busy due to lots of reservations before a show at the Orpheum but we were well taken care of. My only regret was that we only ordered one pork chop. It was amazing!!! And that we didn’t have time for dessert. Thank you Jimmy for an amazing dinner as always.

My birthday dinner was amazing from start to finish. Shannon was an incredible server and helped us figure out what to order and how many things. We got the corn mash, the bucatini, the pasta special (a tomatillo sugo with braised pork), and the charred cabbage. The cabbage was my favorite, it’s not like anything I’ve ever had before but perfectly charred with a slightly spicy hot pot oil and rich sauce to balance it out. It was a lovely meal, highly recommend!

We were in Memphis for a short trip, and we wanted to try The Lobbiest. IT WAS AMAZING! We ordered a seafood dip, carrots, yams, and Teres Major while ending with the apple and meringue dessert. The seafood dip was divine! The carrots were the best I have ever eaten—-I was just expecting “carrots” …these were NEXT LEVEL. Never tasted carrots that good! Next came the yams…again…basic veggie—-holy cow. DELISH!!! Entree was the steak with acorn squash and mashed potatoes with a semi glaze…melted in my mouth. Ended with the apple dessert—-crisp and fresh and a perfect palate cleanser to end the meal. BEAT SERVICE EVER from a delightful and helpful young lady named Lauren. Even the manager came to our table to have a wonderful conversation—-Jessica, what a great manager you are! Can’t wait to travel from Alabama to Memphis again…just for the Lobbiest!

One of the most uncomfortable chairs and tables I've encountered. For that reason alone, I would not return. Inventive menu but not for an appetite that craves simplicity. Very rich sauces. My entree, a pork shank dish, was not warm. The charred okra was my favorite until my husband incorporated it with the green goddess dressing before I could grab them "undressed". No birthday freebie, just a candle. The service was good as were the cocktails.

Amazingly good food and very filling portions, with service to match. We had the corn mash, corn ribs, yams, charred okra, brussels, broccolini, and teres major. The steak was solid but paled in comparison to the vegetable dishes, which completely recalibrated my feelings on how vegetables can taste. Our server Melissa made excellent menu and cocktail recommendations. We will definitely be back!
