I recently had the opportunity to visit The Old Spaghetti Factory in downtown Indianapolis for the first time, and I have to say, this experience completely exceeded my expectations in every possible way. Going in, I honestly expected a fairly typical, middle-of-the-road Italian meal—something decent, but nothing particularly memorable. What I got instead was an experience that genuinely surprised me from start to finish. The food was absolutely outstanding. From the very first bite, you could tell there was a level of authenticity and care put into every dish. The flavors were rich, well-balanced, and far more elevated than I anticipated. The fettuccine Alfredo, in particular, stood out as one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The sauce tasted completely homemade—creamy, fresh, and packed with flavor without being overly heavy. It’s the kind of dish that keeps you going back for just one more bite. The cheese bread with dipping sauce was another highlight. Simple in concept but executed perfectly, it paired beautifully with the meal and added another layer of flavor to the experience. And to top everything off, the dessert did not disappoint either. It was the perfect way to finish a meal that, at that point, had already far exceeded expectations. Beyond the food, the atmosphere of this location is truly something special. The building itself is absolutely beautiful and adds so much character to the overall dining experience. It feels like you’re stepping into a piece of Indianapolis history, and it creates a warm, inviting environment that enhances the meal even more. Without question, this is one of the most visually appealing dining spots in downtown Indianapolis. The service was just as impressive as the food and setting. Our waitress, Jessica, was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was taken care of without ever feeling rushed. On top of that, Andrew, the manager, made his way over to our table and spent some time chatting with us. That kind of personal touch really stands out and shows a level of pride and professionalism that you don’t always see. Overall, I have absolutely no complaints about this experience. From the incredible food to the beautiful atmosphere and top-notch service, everything came together perfectly. Indianapolis should be proud to have a location like this. I will gladly be returning again, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience in the city.

I usually don't go to chain places to eat because of the quality of food. Last time i was here was about 35 years ago and it is still damn good food. Had the Chicken Parm, came with spaghetti a salad and ice cream. Wow, very good all of it and the service was great. Our server Austin was great, very friendly and professional. The place was clean and looked like you stepped out of an old 1920's era business. Great place if ya in the area stoo in and ask for Austin wait on you.

What an interesting place to eat. The old world charm of dark wood and elegant antique furnishings is charmingly played up by soft tunes from the 40s. The railcar in one section of the dining room would likely be popular with kids. The food was mostly good. Lasagna that my husband had was very good. It held its shape even though it was tender, and the sauce was tasty. The chicken Parmesan was rather bland, and while not terrible, it was a bit disappointing. The meals are a good value that included salad or soup and ice cream for dessert. Our server was fast friendly and efficient. All in all it was a great place to eat in the downtown.

01/07/26- We stopped by after a visit to Riley Hospital for Children because our daughter (6) loves the Old Spaghetti Factory. We were seated immediately, and to make for a perfect day, we sat on the trolley 🚋. Our favorite server, April, was on duty. April has been there for a few years, and she's the best! She's friendly to all our kids and makes them feel welcome. Today we only had one child. Our daughter immediately asked for sweet tea and macaroni. My wife ordered the meat lasagna, and I ordered the spaghetti Vesuvius. All meals come with bread and butter, so we don't order appetizers. Besides, it never takes long for our meal to come out. April was busy, but we never felt ignored. She made sure to ask for what we needed when she checked on us. The meals are freshly made and come out hot. All meals come with a side. My wife ordered the salad. My daughter ordered the applesauce and I ordered the minestrone soup. We all enjoyed our meal, followed by the Spumoni ice cream included with the meal. If anyone is going to criticize the restaurant industry, then cook at home 😁 Thank you, April!
