Disappointing experience. Booked for 4 nights, for a work trip that involved some work in the room and on call time. The TV didn't work for the first 3 days, and the toilet ran the entire time I was there, making it hard to sleep. Staff was polite, but in the room for 90 minutes trying to fix the problems unsuccessfully, as they would stop the toilet from running, but not fixing the root problem that caused it to run immediately after it was flushed. After 2 days I asked for a new room, which they could not do because they were booked, so they offered me a dining credit. I called for room service the next morning to confirm the credit was there and ordered breakfast. They of course still billed my credit card and did not provide the promised credit. I ended up leaving a day early from my stay so I could go home a get a good nights sleep. Multiple phone calls and lots of time on hold, no manager on duty, still haven't reversed the charges. I wouldn't stay again.

So I’m rating it a two because everyone was very nice and the room was very clean. But there’s definitely a lack of communication within the hotel. When we got there I explained we had a spa package and they told me to make an appointment quickly because they’d be booked up. I wasn’t aware I had to call the spa separately so I think that clarity would be important. My partner and I are both sober and ordered mocktails at the whiskey bar and I was served a drink with tequila in it. I’m in recovery so you could imagine how that made me feel. I then spoke to the GM about getting a meal or two off my bill and that didn’t happen, the bill states all of the meals even though I was promised otherwise. Then with the spa package we had a 3pm checkout, the personal at the front wasn’t aware of this but then we had it sorted out that we’d check out at 3. Between 12-2 at least 3 people came into our room because they weren’t told about the late check out. The food was good at the restaurants but the fact I was served alcohol was beyond upsetting and no one knew about the spa package was frustrating.

My family of 4 enjoyed the hotel very much - it is just beautiful inside. It was a great location, and they had a storage area for our bikes. The staff members were very pleasant and accommodating to our needs. The room was clean and nicely decorated - we had a balcony that overlooked the courtyard. It was odd that they did not have trash bags in the trash cans, but we made do. It would have been nice to have some space in the mini-fridge for our own stuff as well. It was stocked with drinks. We took out a few to use the space and put them back in when we left. The bed was comfortable. We used the pull-out bed, but we had to call down for linens first. Otherwise, it was wonderful. The pool and fitness center are in the basement. The pool is a saltwater pool kept at 80 degrees F. The sauna and hot tub were nice to relax in. It closes at 9pm, and I would have liked for that to have been a bit later (10 or 11pm?). Overall - I highly recommend this hotel! We enjoyed our stay very much.

What a perfect location. Nice walk to the area dinner and breakfast. Don’t ask where we went to eat you got options. Room was so comfortable and the shower was nice. Yes I am grown and came in late. The curtain to keep the light out was a welcome addition to allow me to sleep in. The check in lady was so nice and give me active ideas. I sorry I did get her name but Bryan at check out was also polite and nice hold bags until we ate breakfast. Oh check out the roof top. We sit in the lobby but the roof was a nice filled with men active.

I loved staying at the Watergate. Every staff member was immediately friendly, welcoming, and asked if there was anything they could help with or do for us. We got so many helpful suggestions from the staff to help make our trip easier while moving around DC for a few days. We were allowed an early check in the day we arrived. On the day we left, we were not due to be at the airport for almost 6 hours after check out and we wanted to go to a museum during that time, so the staff were kind enough to hold our luggage in a secure area at concierge after we checked out, so that we did not have to drag all of that around with us to the museum. The hotel is clean and beautiful. The spa is calming, clean and the pool area is clean and there was no crowding. We had no issues with noise coming from other guests and no interruptions during the night. The restaurant is very pretty, the food is amazing, and the staff remembers your name, even if you are only there for a few days. (I loved George, he was one of the first encounters we had from staff and he was so nice). This is the best hotel I have stayed in around the DC area, probably the best anywhere and I'll be a return customer in the future.
