While traveling to Austin my boyfriend and I stopped into Caribbean Trap House for dinner and drinks and had a great experience. I ordered the Oxtail Grilled Cheese and a chicken patty, and both were really good. The grilled cheese was toasted to perfection on Texas toast, and the oxtail was flavorful and cooked well. The chicken patty was clearly made in-house and not store-bought, which I appreciated. Everything tasted fresh and was made to order. My boyfriend ordered the jerk chicken with mac and cheese. It was just okay. The chicken tasted more like grilled chicken with jerk sauce rubbed on top rather than traditional jerk chicken with that deep, smoky, marinated flavor you’d expect. The mac and cheese was decent, but overall that dish didn’t stand out the way my meal did. The service was really good, and they had great music playing with good vibes throughout the restaurant. You can tell they take pride in making everything fresh. If you’re looking for Caribbean flavors and fresh food, I would highly recommend checking out Caribbean Trap House.

Yesterday, we visited Traphouse Caribbean to try their oxtails. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly and helpful young lady who provided excellent customer service. She offered recommendations and helped us navigate the menu, making the ordering process easy and enjoyable. We ordered the Oxtail Cheesesteak Sandwich, and it was outstanding. The sandwich was well-prepared, packed with flavor, and seasoned perfectly with a great blend of spices. We also ordered the Oxtail Plate and selected two different rice options. The hostess went above and beyond by providing samples of the rice before we made our choice, which was a thoughtful touch and another example of excellent customer service. The oxtails themselves were flavorful and well-seasoned. While they weren't quite "fall-off-the-bone" tender, they still had a great taste. My only criticism would be that there was a bit more sauce than I personally prefer. As for the atmosphere, it is casual and aligns with the restaurant's branding. The music and overall vibe reflect the "Trap House" theme, so guests should expect that type of environment. It may not be the ideal setting for a first date, a business meeting, or a church group gathering, but it delivers exactly the experience its name suggests. Overall, Traphouse Caribbean offers flavorful food, generous portions, and excellent customer service. The Oxtail Cheesesteak Sandwich is definitely worth trying, and the staff's attentiveness made the visit a positive experience. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Caribbean flavors in a relaxed, energetic atmosphere.

I ordered via Door Dash and at first I was apprehensive. However Traphouse Caribbean Did Not Disappoint! The brown stew chicken was so tender. The mac & cheese was super creamy. The collard greens were super flavorful the tacos, the tacos so delicious if I were to rank the three Tacos that I purchased the asada was my favorite then the chicken and then the shrimp, the trap juice super super good and flavorful if I were to rank anything, not a 10 it would be the rum cake. It was a little too sweet for me. If ever I am in the Austin area I will definitely be going to this restaurant and I highly recommend it.

So delicious!!!! I am in love with Traphouse Caribbean ATX. The food was so fresh and delicious, flavorful and more. Try the jerk chicken plate with plantains and collard greens! I also got the Caribbean Phatty and a Rum Cake. So worth it.

A Tik Toc recommendation that was SPOT ON!! Went on Tuesday and left my company’s Christmas party early to return on Thursday. Everything was good. The layers of fresh flavor was unmatched. Had the brown stewed chicken, oxtail chatty, and the oxtail loaded fries. Get the garlic oil and the cilantro crème sauce. Navi was very informative and Te’Andre was amazing! I don’t live in Austin but I know I’ll be back everytime I visit and I’m bringing friends.
