Good: beautiful atmosphere, staff amazing, food delicious. It is expensive but it was worth it. They have Baked Alaska!!! If you don't know what that is, it is amazing! I cannot say how amazing and happy I was to have gone here and experienced this. Bad: It rained that day. So if they could do weather control. I'm just kidding. They were absolutely amazing.I don't have a single bad thing to say about this restaurant!!!!

We are extremely disappointed. Every time we visit Houston, this restaurant used to be a must-visit and a guaranteed "wow" experience. Sadly, not anymore. 1. The Atmosphere: As soon as you walk in, you notice they removed the tablecloths. That small detail used to set the tone, making you want to dress up for a nice dinner. Now, they use cheap plastic placemats that definitely do not match their high-end prices. 2. The Seafood: While the seafood was very fresh and delicious (clearly they have a great supplier), simply serving fresh raw ingredients doesn't take much culinary effort since it lacks actual seasoning. 3. The Main Dishes: The prepared dishes were a letdown. The meat was bland, the truffle fries were no better than what you get at places half the price, and the mashed potatoes—which used to be amazing—were not good. The Brie Mac & Cheese was a huge disappointment. 4. The Sea Bass: It was completely tasteless, honestly like eating paper. The accompanying rice, however, was delicious, but you are paying premium prices for the fish, not the side rice. 5. Dessert: The carrot cake was very good, although the candied walnuts were weirdly spicy for some reason. 6. The Service: On a positive note, the service was excellent. The staff was incredibly attentive and polite throughout the evening. Overall, the food and atmosphere quality have dropped significantly. Paying over $700 for 4 people and leaving this unsatisfied with the food is deeply disappointing.

My birthday dinner at Truluck’s Ocean’s Finest Seafood on 5/20/26 was nothing short of extraordinary! From the moment I arrived, the warm welcome from the Host, Sharon, Haley, and the Manager Jay immediately set the tone for an unforgettable evening. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality made me feel celebrated from the very beginning. My server, Raquel, provided absolutely remarkable service throughout the entire dining experience. She was attentive, knowledgeable, personable, and made sure every detail was perfect. The food was beyond delicious — every bite was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Truluck’s truly lives up to its reputation for exceptional seafood and fine dining. What made the evening even more special was when the General Manager, Cary, personally stopped by my table to wish me a Happy Birthday. He warmly assured me that I would be well taken care of by the entire staff and then shared the sweetest surprise — my daughter, Briana had already paid for everything and all I needed to do was relax and enjoy my experience! That thoughtful moment, paired with the outstanding hospitality from everyone, made me feel incredibly special and appreciated. Thank you to the entire Truluck’s team for creating such a memorable birthday celebration. The exceptional service, amazing food, and genuine care from the staff made this an experience I will never forget. I highly recommend Truluck’s to anyone looking for top-tier dining and hospitality at its absolute finest!

Truluck’s is hands down one of the best seafood spots around. You absolutely can’t miss their fresh stone crab claws—they’re served chilled with a delicious mustard sauce that’s packed with flavor. The cocktails were excellent, and I really appreciated that they also offer well-crafted mocktails. For my entrée, I ordered the miso-glazed sea bass, and it did not disappoint. It was perfectly flaky, rich, and paired beautifully with the crab fried rice. We also shared lobster and vegetables, which were just as impressive. Dessert was a standout—the carrot cake was massive and easily the best I’ve ever had. The ambiance had a romantic vibe with soft lighting that wasn’t too dark, making it perfect for a date night. Our server was amazing—friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Reservations are definitely recommended. We went on a weeknight, so it wasn’t too crowded or loud, but I can see weekends being much busier. I can’t wait to come back!

Truluck’s absolutely exceeded expectations. From the moment we walked in, everything felt elevated—the atmosphere is beautiful, well-organized, and perfect for a special night out. The food was outstanding. The king crab and lobster bisque were incredible, and the scallops with cauliflower rice were cooked perfectly. You can tell they really focus on quality and presentation. The service was just as impressive—attentive without being overbearing, and they made the whole experience feel seamless. The complimentary Baked Alaska was such a nice touch, and the carrot cake portions are no joke! If you’re looking for one of the best seafood restaurants with top-tier service and ambiance, this is it. We’ll definitely be back.
