If you’re heading to Upstairs at Caroline, ask for Darnell — and thank me later. We brought in a 15-man bachelor party, which let’s be honest, is not the easiest group to manage. From the moment we walked in, Darnell had an energy that set the tone for the entire night. He was upbeat, welcoming, and genuinely excited to make our experience special — and that enthusiasm never wavered, not even once. Keeping up with a group our size is no small feat, but Darnell was on top of everything. Drinks were never empty for long, he remembered everyone’s orders, kept the vibe going, and somehow made each person in our crew feel like they were his only customer. That kind of attentiveness is rare, and it made a huge difference. Beyond the service, his personality alone is worth the visit. He’s the type of bartender who adds to the fun without overstepping — cracking jokes, hyping up the groom, and keeping the energy high all night long. The whole group was raving about him by the end of the evening. Darnell, you made an already great night truly unforgettable. We’ll absolutely be back, and we’ll be requesting you every time. Upstairs at Caroline is lucky to have someone like you behind the bar! 🙌

Super chill rooftop in the aloft hotel on Congress. Food: N/A Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Cost to worth it rating: 3 Opentableable: no walk-in only Return worthiness: yes Highlights: - Liked the casual relaxed vibe in a rooftop so didn't have to be fancy - Mix of ages - Plenty of seating - Cute white lights hanging - Could go full party drink mode or relax with a few - Have water jugs out so you can fill your own Midlights: - Order at bar line can be long and not many working behind it but then saw waiter coming around when was seated - Drinks just ok--there more for vibes Lowlights: - Didn't get to try the tacos since we were off to have a meal after

We came here because we saw such good reviews and the pictures look great, but seriously the food here is just awful. Like I wouldn’t wish this food on my worst enemy bad. The shrimp tacos are cold, the chicken on the nachos and tacos and salad was bbq sauce (who puts bbq sauce on Mexican food!?!) and the salad was something you’d get at the airport. Drinks were delicious and atmosphere was great. But dear god, do NOT come here for food!

Traveled for work and stayed in Aloft hotel, stopped here every night. Cannot speak highly enough of Julia and Madison! Service was well beyond expectations, margaritas were on point, food was great, and nothing is gonna break the bank. Julia and Madison both remembered my name and never let drinks run dry. Incredible place, highly recommend.
