I’ve been staying at Washington Plaza for a work conference for 3 consecutive years, and this time has definitely been the best. The staff is always so kind and helpful. Belene helped me to do two separate check ins earlier than she had to, simply out of courtesy. I wheeled in straight off a flight and was warmly accommodated when it would have been more than appropriate to ask me to wait. The common areas have been freshly renovated and the food & beverage, which I always loved, has been the best yet this trip! It’s really all the little touches for me, like Belene’s kindness and having my room made, even when I sleep in and leave later. Love this place!

Stayed at this hotel for the UFC Freedom 250 fanfest. It's about less than a mile walk to the Elipse and is located near a CVS and Wawa liquor store so that was super convient. The price was good and the rooms are good. Rooms aren't large, but does the job for sleeping. 32 inch tv, fridge and standard everything else. No complaints here and would stay again.

Overall not a bad stay. Good location. Staff was fine. Room was just fine. Parking garage is small & has a lot of hazardous areas. Can hit your car on many things hanging from the ceiling, our car was damaged. Hardly any signs about the tight & unfitting spaces. Staff was helpful about the damage but overall should be a better lot that your guests are parking at.

This is an older hotel. It did the job but is not fancy. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Room was clean. The staff were amazing. I was able to walk just about everywhere I went which was really nice. I loved that it was tucked into a corner. It felt like a retreat from the busy city.

I'm hesitant to leave a review because I don't want the best kept secret in Washington DC hotels to get out. Ignore what haters say about construction or it being dated. The construction is because they're doing a floor-by-floor renovation, and they're nearly done with it, and it looks great. Compared to newer, super-trendy hotels clearly designed for flashy social media posts, the room layouts here may feel a bit 2000s-era because they lack excesses like record players and bookshelves in-room, but the renovations have added clean, stylish comfort at an accessible price point without the visual noise. Design hounds will love its midcentury internationalist-high modern architecture, like a Niemeyer or Le Corbusier design, best taken in while floating on your back in the amazing central courtyard pool, which is the place to be on a hot day. It really adds a classy panache In a city full of otherwise normcore or visually-taxing hotels, when you walk up the promenade with its curved white façade and through the front door, you feel almost like a celebrity. The service is always the best I've ever received. They treat you like a real dignitary, no matter who you are (in part because actual dignitaries stay here, especially when there are international conferences in town). The location in Thomas Circle is central to everything you want in DC and the Capitol Bikeshare stand nearby on the circle makes getting around cheap and easy. The restaurant food is good, the staff friendly, the service timely, and the drinks at the poolside bar are well-made. Even though my employer prefers to put our staff up at more expensive, trendier hotels, when I get to plan my own travel, I prefer the Washington Plaza. A style icon for adults with taste who value retro chic.
