Had a really great experience at Werkstatt this past Sunday. The staff are lovely and so is the food. The giant pretzel specifically is a must. It’s really unfortunate how few German/Austrian restaurants we have in the city which makes it all the more important to visit the ones we do. Highly recommend.

Stopped here for an early lunch on a Saturday. Loved the onion soup, pretzel, and whitefish toast. I was somewhat worried the menu might be meat-centric, but at least as an ovo-lacto-pescatarian (I’m vegetarian-adjacent, but eat eggs, dairy, and fish), there were plenty of great options. Definitely hope to go back soon!

The pretzel was top notch. Got the bratwurst, yummy – although personal preference don’t love the sauerkraut. The spatzle was also good. Vibe is cozy & warm.

We had dinner here and tried the Kase Spatzle and the Curry Wurst plus a blackberry cider and glass of wine. Keep in mind they accept cash or American Express only. I thought the food was excellent and well priced. The total for our dinner was $70 without the tip when paying in cash. They do add a 4% fee if you use Amex. My only complaint was the person who waited on us wasn't very friendly and barely said anything, no recommendations on food or a thank you at the end of the meal. Overall the meal was enjoyable and did remind us of food we ate in Austria.

Great flavor small portions. Not much of a schnitzel as far as actual German schnitzels go, but it was a tasty breaded, sort of pounded, half chicken breast. . The pasta dishes are fantastic. Beers are also great. A good selection and cold tap.
