Had a fantastic experience at Zuni Café. The service was outstanding—attentive without being overbearing, and the staff really know the menu and guide you well. The food absolutely lives up to the reputation. The roasted chicken is a must—perfectly crisp skin, incredibly juicy, and packed with flavor. The rib eye was equally impressive, cooked spot on and elevated by a rich, well-balanced peppercorn sauce that added just the right amount of depth without overpowering the meat. And don’t leave without trying the chocolate cake—pair it with ice cream and it’s the perfect finish to the meal. Overall, a place that nails both execution and experience. Definitely one of those spots you keep coming back to.

This place has a lot of potential, ambience and interior are great. Staff seem good. However, the menu sounds promising but underdelivered; the food is overpriced and mid at best. $4.50 oysters on ice cubes (not crushed ice), cold bread and butter (making it unspreadable), and the salad and entree seemed like something you could make at home with basic ingredients. Mandatory 25% tip too which is ridiculous!

Popped in to Zuni Cafe on a Thursday evening and there were plenty of tables available. The first thing I noticed was how hot the restaurant was, easily above 75 degrees so it was a bit uncomfortable. I started with the fresh lime margarita. It was okay, nothing special and I wouldn’t recommend it. Then my caesar salad came. The croutons were incredible, lots of parm and fresh lettuce. I enjoyed it a lot! The shoestring fries took over 25 minutes to come out. Massive portion, they were salty and the aioli was good. They charge extra for the aioli, they definitely needed it. The service was nothing memorable, they have an automatic 20% gratuity. Overall, I could’ve skipped this restaurant on my SF trip. Decent food but at the price point there are definitely better options.

It was my first time here (but my husband’s nth time). He was raving about their chicken but we had no time to wait for it (75 minutes cooking/waiting time for this) so we ordered something else. He ordered the olives and pizza, burger for me, and shoe string pizza for our daughter. The pizza looked good and my husband loved it. I tasted the olives but didn’t care for it. The hamburger was moist but lacked flavor (not well seasoned) - other cheaper burger options are far better than this. The highlight of the meal was surprisingly the shoestring fries - its simplicity was just great. The service was commendable and the ambiance was that of Paris.

First time eating here. It was a beautiful San Francisco day. Went for lunch. Reservation was for 12:15pm. We arrived on time and were immediately seated upstairs with a windows view of the street. The chicken for 2 was immediately ordered due to it taking 60-65 minutes to bake. Salad of lettuce, avocado, radishes and smoked spicy paprika almonds was the first course. The dressing and salad were delicious. Next was the pizza. It was just the right size to share while waiting for the chicken. It was fire oven cooking. Sauce, capers, Italian bacon on a beautiful crust. 5 star dish, but an appetizer not a main. Then the chicken arrived. Looked beautiful. Surrounded by a bread and lettuce salad with great olive oil on it. We both agreed it was excellent. The whole chicken was crispy, juicy and delicious! Along with the food we had a couple of mocktails and lemonade that was freshly made. Delicious!!! The lunchtime daylight only enhanced the atmosphere of the floor to ceiling windows. What a wonderful dining experience!
